Former NFL and Alabama Crimson Tide running back Damien Harris was the latest analyst to react to the latest College Football Playoff rankings released by the CFP committee on selection Day this Sunday.
Speaking on the CBS College Football Show, Harris didn’t mince his words about the playoff teams this season, as he opined that Notre Dame Irish should have been in the playoffs. He also said that Notre Dame deserved a playoff berth over his alma mater, the Alabama Crimson Tide.
“I thought they (Notre Dame) should they deserve that spot more than Alabama. I’m going to get ridiculed all over social media because I’m all on the Alabama shouldn’t have got in,” Harris stated on the CBS show (0:04).
“looking at what Notre Dame has done, they have the two best losses in all of college football. And they passed the eye test as one of the 12 best teams in the country, if you ask me,” Harris further elaborated (0:28).

Harris’ comments got a lot of Alabama fans angry, which prompted them to react to his views on the Crimson Tide’s qualification on X, writing:
“He’s always been a little man,” wrote a fan.
“Traitor. He wasn’t a very good running back,” stated a fan.
“This guy really hates the school he attended,” said a fan.
“What a clown I’m done with his a**,” remarked a fan.
“This dude spent most of his career at Bama getting chased down from behind… doesn’t have anything to do with it but I thought I would mention it,” commented a fan.
“All these former Alabama players burning those bridges today for a tiny bit of temporary clout,” stated another fan.
“Fake alabama player we don’t claim him,” wrote another fan.
“Worst Alabama RB of the Saban era and it’s not particularly close,” commented another fan.
Harris, on the show, backed his comments, saying how Alabama, even though they have been winning on paper, the intensity of their haven’t been convincing, whilst also referring to their losses so far this season.
Harris has played for the Alabama Crimson Tide for four years, having compiled just under 3,000 rushing yards and more than 20 rushing touchdowns for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama Becomes The First 3-Loss Team To Qualify For The College Football Playoff
Harris’ comments against his alma mater don’t come out of the blue as a lot of analysts share the same sentiment as him as far as Alabama’s qualification in concerned.
Part of the reason why Harris and media personalities alike do not agree with the Crimson Tide’s qualification is their losses so far this campaign.
Alabama made college football playoffs history this season, becoming the first ever three-loss team to make the college football playoffs, losing against Florida State Seminoles, and Oklahoma Sooners in regular season whilst also facing a 28-7 loss against Georgia in the SEC championship this past weekend.
