The Oregon Ducks are set to play the Texas Tech Red Raiders in the Orange Bowl today. In the lead-up to the game, the Ducks’ biggest problem was Dakorien Moore’s injury and the question mark on his availability for the game.
The Ducks’ freshman wide receiver has been inactive since October. Moore last played against the Wisconsin Badgers at home. He got injured when the team was practicing for the game against the Iowa Hawkeyes.
In the early stage, Moore was expected to sit out only a few weeks, but as days went by, his injury was reported to be more serious. Now, the Ducks are going against the strongest team in the Big 12.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders have a 12-1 overall record and 8-1 in the conference. The Red Raiders have been phenomenal on both ends. They are currently on a six-game winning streak, and in their last four games, they haven’t allowed their opposition to breach the double-digit mark.
Going against a team like the Red Raiders, the Ducks are expecting to have every weapon in their arsenal. Moore is a big part of their roster, and his unavailability tonight might cause problems for the Ducks.
So, is Dakorien Moore playing in the Orange Bowl tonight? Fortunately for the Oregon fans, the answer is yes. The wide receiver has shown tremendous progress in the days leading up to the game and is expected to be in the lineup today.
Before his injury, Moore played eight games and had 28 catches for 443 yards and three touchdowns. It’s a positive sign for a team looking to extend its seven-game win streak and register a Bowl win for the season.

Dakorien Moore and the Ducks Are Excited for the Orange Bowl
The Ducks’ head coach, Dan Lanning, during the pregame press conference, talked about the team’s headspace going into the matchup. As big as the occasion is, Lanning said his players are very excited for the game.
He also talked about respecting the opponent and stated that the Texas Tech Red Raiders are a very strong and capable team. Lanning also heaped praise on their head coach.
“Our players have prepped really hard, and there’s a ton of respect for Texas Tech and what they’ve been able to create this year,” Dan Lanning said. “The way they play, I think that’s a true indication of the way Coach McGuire coaches. Our guys are really excited about this opportunity to share a field, and it’s an awesome venue to get to be a part of.”
Defensive back Trey McNutt is probable for the game, while players like Kyler Kasper, Evan Stewart, Kingston Lopa, Solomon Davis, and more are out.
