Partnering with USC quarterback signee Husan Longstreet, Moore hauled in a sensational 75-yard touchdown pass that broke the deadlock and delivered a victory. The game-winning sequence unfolded with just under two minutes remaining.
On a second-and-ten from their 25-yard line, Longstreet lofted a deep pass down the right hashmark, trusting Moore to deliver. The Duncanville, Texas, native rose to the occasion and leaped over two defenders to snag the ball with one hand.
Moore then outmaneuvered the secondary, racing into the end zone to complete the play and give his team a 28-21 lead. The breathtaking play instantly went viral, earning recognition from fans and analysts. It even got highlighted among the weekend’s top plays on NFL.com.
Scott Reed of Rivals praised Moore’s contribution, noting how it reflects Oregon’s history of cultivating elite talent from the Polynesian Bowl.
“Oregon’s longstanding relationship with Polynesian players has greatly elevated the program’s profile. From Haloti Ngata, Marcus Mariota, Dillon Gabriel, Matayo Uiagalelei, and many others, the Ducks have laid a solid foundation.”
The celebration that followed was as unforgettable as the play itself. Travis Hunter, the honorary team captain, joined Moore in the end zone, playfully tackling him WWE-style. This game-clinched touchdown marked Moore’s second of the night, complementing his earlier 11-yard score in the opening quarter.
Dakorien Moore Rising As A Star Dominance
Earlier in January, he earned MVP honors at another all-star game in Orlando, where he tallied 136 all-purpose yards, including an 83-yard punt return touchdown. These back-to-back MVP performances have cemented Moore’s reputation as a player who thrives on the big stage.
In Honolulu, he was a consistent player throughout the game. Alongside his touchdowns, he ignited a key drive just before halftime with a crucial 20-yard reception.
The event also spotlighted other emerging stars, including Deuce Geralds, a highly touted defensive lineman who earned Defensive MVP honors. Meanwhile, former Oregon signee Jaron Keawe Sagapolutele, who played for Team Mauka, showed flashes of his potential after announcing a transfer to Cal earlier this month.
