‘Crybaby Kiffin’: Fans React As Ole Miss Receives Heartbreaking News on LSU Staff’s Migration Before Miami Game

Ole Miss football has taken major strides this season. They were playoff-bound when Lane Kiffin was still their head coach, and even after he left, the Rebels continued to stack up wins and qualified for the semifinals.

Kiffin’s leaving the program was expected to be disastrous for the Rebels’ season. However, they managed to not only survive his departure but have played some of their best game since he left.

But the problems are far from over. It was recently reported that Ole Miss will lose most of its LSU-bound coaches this week. The coaches leaving Ole Miss for LSU was part of the deal, and it’s not surprising, but the timing surely makes it worse for the Rebels.

They are going to play the Miami Hurricanes in less than a week, and doing so without most of the old coaching staff will be an uphill battle. They will retain offensive coordinator Charlie Weis Jr. for the rest of the season, but that’s not going to be enough.

Fans are now calling out Kiffin for destroying the Rebels’ title chase on social media.

    “Crybaby Kiffin,” a fan wrote.

“Can the ole miss players sue lane kiffin and lsu?” a fan wrote.

“It’ll be over soon once Miami handle their business,” a fan wrote.

    “cold world,” a fan wrote.

“Why would anyone want to play for Kiffin after this ?” a fan wrote.

“Lane Kiffin is bad for college football,” a fan wrote.

Some fans also think that something has to be done to prevent a situation like this in the future. Interestingly, when Kiffin accepted the offer from LSU, he told the Rebels’ athletic director that he wanted to end the season at Ole Miss. However, his request was denied, which prompted him to leave immediately.

Lane Kiffin is Trying to Insert Himself in the Rebels Title Chase

Almost every Ole Miss story has a Lane Kiffin angle attached to it. It’s been a while since he left and has already started working with the LSU Tigers, trying to build a capable team, but Kiffin is still a big part of the Rebels’ run this season.

As per On3’s Andy Staples, Kiffin is intentionally pushing himself into Ole Miss conversations, and it isn’t a good look for a celebrated coach. Staples recently advised Kiffin to focus on building the LSU Tigers instead of continuing his off-field antics.

“You made your decision, and you’re not a part of the run. That doesn’t mean that I don’t think that he would be entitled to credit if they win the championship. I do think that, regardless of how you feel about Lane Kiffin, he did build that team,” he said.

It’s undeniable that Kiffin has played a major role in developing the Rebels and making them strong enough to reach the semifinals. However, since he’s no longer with them, their success is not directly associated with his name anymore.
