Colorado vs Houston Football Picks, Predictions, Depth Chart, Projected Starting Lineups (September 12)

Coach Prime and the Colorado Buffaloes are taking on the Houston Cougars next, and as they take on a powerhouse team, there have been some questions raised regarding their quarterback situation. Deion Sanders, an NFL Hall of Famer, has been experimenting a lot and has been inserting backup and third-string quarterbacks. This makes the game against the Cougars a lot more interesting.

Colorado vs Houston Players to Watch:

Kaidon Salter is considered the starting QB, but has been open about inserting freshman QB sensation Julian Lewis, the backup quarterback, as well as third stringer Ryan Staub. All three would be the ones to watch, as each of them is hungry and trying to get some time to shine and fill Shedeur Sanders’ shoes.

Salter and Lewis love to throw, and one of their primary target should be wide receiver Sincere Brown, who has had 120 receiving yards on four receptions, leading to one touchdown. Another one is running back Dekalon Taylor, who has had seven receptions for 87 yards, resulting in two touchdowns.

As for Houston, Conner Weigman will be the one to lead the team, with the quarterback already throwing for 347 yards this season on 46 attempts and 30 completions. He has been solid and consistent for the still-undefeated Cougars.

Houston is good at both the passing game and the rushing game. With Weigman having a lot of good options to hand the ball to, be it running back Dean Connors with 182 rushing yards or tight end Tanner Koziol with 115 receiving yards. They also have a solid defense with linebacker Jalen Garner and DB Latrell McCutchin Sr.

Odds and Betting Lines for Colorado vs. Houston

The Colorado Buffaloes may have won their previous game, but they are still rebuilding, and this has BetMGM saying that Houston would be the betting favorite heading to the game. The Cougars have a -4.5 (-110) spread with a -200 moneyline for a total of 44.5 (-115o / -105u).

    The Buffaloes, on the other hand, have a +4.5 (-110) spread and a +165 moneyline for a total of 44.5 (-115o / -105u).

    Colorado vs. Houston Prediction

While Colorado is looking for a stellar season this year, even though the team is in rebuilding mode, the Houston Cougars, which has an overall more balanced game, will likely win. However, this contest might be close, with the Cougars probably edging out the Buffaloes in single digits. There is still a good chance that the Buffs would win, though, and it will also be a close one.
