Colorado Football Sends Loud Message as Shedeur Sanders Joins Browns’ Camp

The connection between Shedeur Sanders and Colorado football remains strong as he begins his professional career.

As the former Buffaloes quarterback made his first appearance at Browns rookie minicamp, Colorado’s football program made its presence felt with a clear public endorsement of their former star, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Colorado Shows Strong Support For Shedeur Sanders As He Begins NFL Journey

The official Colorado Buffaloes Football account didn’t mince words with their emphatic support, commenting “LET’S GET IT 1️⃣2️⃣” on Sanders’ first appearance in Browns gear.

The digital show of solidarity comes at a crucial moment for Sanders, who entered the NFL with a chip on his shoulder after falling much further in the draft than his college production suggested he would.

The Buffaloes’ public endorsement speaks volumes about the program’s continued investment in Sanders’ success beyond Boulder. Despite being projected as a first-round talent, Sanders slipped to the fifth round, creating one of the draft’s biggest storylines.

Colorado’s loud message serves as both encouragement and a reminder to NFL teams of the talent they passed on.

Sanders wearing jersey number 12 (now the highest-selling rookie jersey among all draftees), has already begun turning heads at the Browns’ rookie minicamp.

He split reps with third-round pick Dillon Gabriel during the opening 90-minute practice, with observers noting Sanders appeared more prepared and sharper in the first session, though Gabriel took initial first-team reps due to his higher draft slot.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski also emphasized at that time that draft position won’t influence the quarterback competition, stating, “Once you are in the building, nobody really cares where you were drafted… Clearly [Sanders] has the talent to go higher in the draft. He didn’t. That’s our job now, to dive into the things where we can help him.”

Sanders’ work ethic has already become evident in Cleveland. He was the last player off the practice field, staying late to throw extra passes with tryout receiver Jabre Barber.

This dedication mirrors the commitment he showed at Colorado, where he passed for over 4,100 yards and 37 touchdowns en route to being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024.

The relationship between Sanders and Colorado transcends the typical player-program dynamic. As the son of head coach Deion Sanders, Shedeur’s success was intertwined with the program’s resurgence.

His performance helped put Colorado back on the national map, generating unprecedented media attention and breathing new life into a previously struggling program.

Now as Sanders faces the daunting task of climbing a crowded Browns quarterback depth chart that includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, and Deshaun Watson, Colorado’s continued support demonstrates the lasting bond formed during his time in Boulder.

The “LET’S GET IT” message isn’t just about encouraging a former player; rather, it’s about standing behind him during the most challenging transition of his football career.
