One fan who has remained loyal to the Colorado Buffaloes for as long as anyone can remember is Peggy Coppom, also known as Miss Peggy. She is 100 years old and still going strong. Ever since Deion Sanders’ arrival as head coach of the football program in 2023, the city of Boulder has garnered national attention, and even Miss Peggy agrees that Coach Prime is the best thing that has happened to Colorado.
On Sunday, Miss Peggy went out for dinner with Laura Levy, a realty agent for Coldwell Banker. Levy revealed that Miss Peggy recorded a video message for $60 million net worth holder Sanders (via Celebrity Net Worth), which started with ‘Hey, Good Lookin’ and ended with ‘We need you, Coach.’
“I had dinner with this ray of sunshine last night,” Levy wrote on X. “I thought I’d share because the world (and internet) could use a little extra dose of Miss Peggy right now.
“We love spending time with her. She recorded a private video message to
@DeionSanders sending him extra prayers for continued healing. It’s started with “Hey, Good Lookin’! and ended with “We need you, Coach!” 100 years old and still spinning circles around the rest of us. She’s something else,” she added.

Peggy Coppom has been attending CU games since the 1940s. Earlier, she had her sister Betty accompany her to the games, but even after she died in 2020, Peggy has continued to show support, as her legacy has now become an inspiration to all in Colorado.
Deion Sanders and Miss Peggy’s Relationship Over the Last Few Years
Deion Sanders arrived at Colorado after the 2022 season, when the program could manage only one win. Shortly after that, he took the first steps to initiate the relationship with the Buffaloes’ superfan, as he visited Miss Peggy at her home.
Sanders once revealed what’s common between him and Peggy, saying:
“She don’t have bad days; I don’t have bad days. That’s why we connect. I’ve never seen Peggy with a bad attitude or mad about something. It don’t happen. I love her for that. She’s so consistent.”
In November 2024, Folsom Field roared with a chorus of “Happy Birthday” when Peggy turned 100. Sanders surprised her with a special apparel line in her honor.
He described the occasion as ’emotional‘ and said:
“I teared up on the sidelines…I didn’t want the opposing team to think I was getting soft.”
Coach Prime has got himself inserted into the hearts of fans in Boulder, including Miss Peggy, who saw Sanders turn around Colorado from a one-win program to registering a 9-4 season in just two years.
