With recruiting season in full swing, Colorado is drawing national attention as head coach Deion Sanders gears up for a crucial weekend in Boulder. Five-star wide receiver Cederian Morgan and Georgia pledge Vance Spafford—two of the most sought-after pass catchers in the country—are scheduled to visit, signaling the Buffaloes’ aggressive pursuit of elite talent.
As Colorado eyes a breakthrough in its 2026 class, which currently includes just one commitment, Sanders will host a group of top recruits, according to DNVR Buffs reporter Scott Procter, underscoring the program’s urgent push to elevate its roster.

Colorado Turns Up the Heat on Elite WR Prospects With Deion Sanders Leading the Pitch
Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes are setting the stage for a potentially program-shifting recruiting weekend as two of the top wide receiver prospects in the 2026 class arrive in Boulder.
Among the headline visitors is five-star standout Cederian Morgan, who ranks No. 19 nationally and is the On3 Industry Rankings’ No. 2 wide receiver and No. 2 player from Alabama. The Benjamin Russell (Ala.) product is kicking off his official visits with a stop at Colorado.

“I’m excited to meet Coach Prime and the staff and also get to Colorado and meet the players and see the campus,” Morgan told On3. “They are a potential fit for me because I think I’ll bring the rare combination of size and speed to the receiver room.”
Morgan, who plans to announce his decision on July 2, is considering Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, and Colorado. His visit marks a crucial opportunity for Sanders to showcase the program’s growth and vision. The talented receiver emphasized that he is looking to commit to a school that communicates well and offers a clear path to the NFL.
Joining Morgan in Boulder is four-star receiver Vance Spafford, currently committed to Georgia. A dynamic pass-catcher from Mission Viejo, Calif., Spafford is the No. 11 wideout in the nation and the No. 85 overall prospect. Despite his verbal pledge to the Bulldogs, Spafford’s trip to Boulder reflects his openness to what Colorado has to offer. Miami and Washington remain involved as well.
Securing even one of the two would mark a significant recruiting win, but landing both could transform Colorado’s wide receiver group into one of the most talented in the country. As Sanders seeks to elevate the Buffaloes within a wide-open Big 12, this weekend’s visits could prove pivotal to the trajectory of the 2026 recruiting cycle.
