Tonight’s intriguing matchup will feature an experienced broadcast team as ESPN has enlisted veteran Anish Shroff to be the play-by-play voice, and former Heisman Trophy winner Andre Ware in the booth with him. The two will call this game as an important stepping stone in both programs’ 2025 seasons.
Anish Shroff has extensive experience, bringing many different pieces and perspectives to this telecast. The graduate of Syracuse University has covered various sports in multiple capacities, including college football, college basketball, college baseball and even lacrosse. What To Expect In The Colorado Buffaloes vs. Houston Cougars Game
Houston’s offense has taken a leap of greatness under Fritz, putting up 31 points per game this season, compared to only 14 points per game in 2024. The difference is striking, and there is reason to believe the Cougars have hit their offensive stride.
On the other hand, Colorado’s offensive woes are blatantly obvious when looking at its Big 12 Conference ranking. Sanders’s team ranks second to last in conference offense at just under 26 points per game. This difference could be telling in a game where ESPN’s Matchup Predictor gives Houston a 4.5 point edge and a 57.9% winning probability.
Defensively, Houston has been about as stingy as they could be through two games, allowing only nine points and only one touchdown total. For these playing incredible defense the Cougars are ranked No. 79 in the Big 12 rankings, which creates a problem for Colorado’s offensively challenged team.
Meanwhile the Buffaloes are ranked No. 10 in the Conference, allowing only 17 points a game, showcasing they are competent enough defensively to keep the compact.
It would be fair to expect a competitive back and forth game and it will be very interesting to see who comes out on top in this evenly balanced affair.
