Week 8 of the college football season is set to begin soon. That means fans will get to watch some matchups with big implications on conference standings and the College Football Playoff picture. However, it also means that injuries are starting to pile up for teams around the nation. Here are some updates on some key injuries for players in some big games this week.

College Football Week 8 Injury Report
Derek Meadows
Alabama WR Derek Meadows suffered a concussion last Saturday against Missouri. He is listed as out for the upcoming matchup against Tennessee.
Jam Miller
Alabama running back Jam Miller also exited Saturday’s game with a concussion. He is not expected to be available for the Crimson Tide on Saturday when they compete in their rivalry game against the Volunteers.
DeSean Bishop
The Tennessee Volunteers have several injuries, but the most important one to watch is to running back DeSean Biship. He is the team’s leading rusher, but he appeared on the injury report this week. Fortunately for the Volunteers, he is listed as probable to play against the Crimson Tide.

John Mateer
Oklahoma QB John Mateer was a Heisman Trophy frontrunner earlier this season before going down with an injury. Fortunately for the Sooners, he was able to return last week against Texas after only missing one game. He is still healthy and expected to play against South Carolina on Saturday.
Monroe Freeling
Georgia OL Monroe Freeling reportedly played through an injury during the Bulldogs’ win over Auburn. He is being monitored by the coaching staff, but is still expected to be available for the team this week.
Chauncey Bowens
Similarly, Georgia RB Chauncey Bowens has been playing through injuries. Despite this, he is expected to play again this week.
Daylen Everette
Georgia CB suffered an injury against Auburn last week but later returned to finish the game. He is expected to be available on Saturday against Ole Miss.
Whit Weeks
LSU LB Whit Weeks is listed as questionable for Saturday’s game against Vanderbilt.
Vanzale Hinton
Freshman DB Vanzale Hinton has been stellar for Vanderbilt this season, recording three tackles in five games. However, he tore his ACL and is out for the season.
Brandon Cisse
South Carolina DB Brandon Cisse has been one of the best players on the Gamecocks’ defense this season. He appeared on the injury report this week but is listed as probable.
