    Sam Horn, Missouri QB

Horn battled to the wire with Beau Pribula for the Missouri QB job and was expected to see substantial playing time in Week 1, but he was instead sidelined with a significant ankle injury after just one rushing attempt for six yards. No specific timeline for return was named by Eli Drinkwitz, but it looks to be a while.

    Jay Haynes, Clemson RB

Haynes, who rushed for 295 yards and three scores for the Tigers in 2024, didn’t see action in Week 1’s loss to LSU. Haynes has been battling a quadriceps injury and is still recovering from ACL surgery. Coach Dabo Swinney sounded optimistic about Haynes’s return, but it doesn’t sound especially imminent.

    Johntay Cook, Syracuse WR

A transfer from Texas, Cook had an impressive Week 1 performance, catching six passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. He did sustain a minor leg injury, but by all indications, he’s expected to be ready to go against UConn in Week 2 action.

    Damari Alston, Auburn RB

Alston had a solid Week 1 performance for the Tigers, racking up 84 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. Unfortunately, in the process, he sustained a shoulder injury and is being characterized as questionable for the Tigers’ matchup with Ball State in Week 2.

    Antonio Jordan, Arkansas WR

Jordan is a true freshman, but with his 6’6″ size, he is expected to be a factor in the Arkansas passing attack. Unfortunately, Jordan had a high ankle sprain in practice, which will sideline him for about three more weeks, including Week 2.

    Micah Alejado, Hawaii QB

Alejado led the Rainbow Warriors’ upset win over Stanford in Week 0. He struggled in Week 1 against Arizona and now has a foot injury, which renders him a game-time decision for Hawaii’s Week 2 game against Sam Houston State.

    Cole Spence, Vanderbilt TE

Spence played a significant role for the Commodores in 2024, catching 10 passes for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns. While he did play in the opener for Vanderbilt against Charleston Southern, he didn’t catch any passes and apparently sustained a Grade 2 MCL Sprain, which leaves him questionable for the Week 2 game against Virginia Tech.

    Junior Sherrill, Vanderbilt WR

Sherrill caught 29 passes in 2024 for 411 yards and three touchdowns. He caught three more passes for 33 yards in Vandy’s opener, but is now questionable for Week 2 due to an undisclosed injury.

    Kamari Moulton, Iowa RB

Moulton had a big 2024 season for the Hawkeyes, running for 473 yards and three touchdowns. He had three carries for 22 yards in Iowa’s opener, but is now out with an undisclosed injury for the Week 2 rivalry game against Iowa State.

    Destyn Hill, LSU WR

Hill is basically a depth addition for the Tigers. He caught six passes for Florida State in 2023 and had played in LSU’s opener, but didn’t catch any passes. He’ll miss the Week 2 game against Louisiana Tech due to a hand injury.
