Monday College Football Player Props

Braydon Bennett Over 80 Rushing Yards (+116)

Coastal Carolina has so many players in the transfer portal that they haven’t been able to complete a two-deep depth chart at some positions. One of those is running back, where Braydon Bennett is the sole name on the sheet. The electric rusher already leads the team in yards and touchdowns, but he should shoulder the load even more in the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

Bennett’s standard rushing line is set at 70.5 by FanDuel, but at -114 odds, you’ll not get much of a Christmas bonus from your bookmaker. Instead, grab some plus money on 80+ rushing yards. The Coastal Carolina back averages 6.5 yards per carry, meaning 13 carries should easily cover the line here, even against a stellar UTSA run defense that leads the AAC.

Owen McCown Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-172)

The Chanticleers’ pass defense has been suboptimal this season, and that’s before you even consider the loss of star cornerback Matthew McDoom and pass rusher Clev Lubin to the transfer portal. Only one team in the Sun Belt Conference allowed more passing touchdowns than Coastal Carolina this year despite facing an average of just 29.7 pass attempts per game.

As such, UTSA quarterback Owen McCown should sail past his standard passing touchdown line of 1.5 in the Myrtle Beach Bowl. The Roadrunners passer has thrown multiple touchdowns in over half of his games this year, including four scores against the Memphis Tigers and Tulsa Golden Hurricane.

He’s only thrown for one score in each of his last two games, which may be cause for some hesitation, but the matchup here is just too good not to unleash Josh McCown’s son early and often. If you’re feeling adventurous, FanDuel offers plus money on 3+ passing touchdowns (+205).
