Arch Manning will finally take over the Texas offense in the 2025 season now that Quinn Ewers is leaving for the NFL. The 19-year-old has been Ewers’s backup for the last two seasons and has been waiting for his opportunity.
The hype around him has been unreal. This was pretty evident even during the 2024 season when he took over the field for a limited time, and fans went crazy each time he threw the ball or rushed down the field. But is this pressure too much for the young player?

J.D PicKell Urges Fans To Slow Down on Arch Manning Hype
Last season, there were rumors that Manning might leave Texas for a new team since he has been a backup to Ewers. Still, the young QB stayed loyal to the Longhorns and is deciding to make a name for himself in Austin.
This week, On3’s J.D. PicKell criticized the Manning hype while reiterating his previous stance on the young quarterback.
Let’s be okay with allowing the Arch Manning plot to play out his first few games before defining his entire football career.

“Marcus Aurelius essentially said that one of the greatest gifts in life is having no opinion. Let’s be okay with having no opinion for the better part of the first few games of his [Arch Manning] college career,” PicKell said on his show.
“I’m not saying we can’t evaluate it and have an emotional response in real-time. I mean, by the grace of God, we’re a paid show, but we’re not going to have a definitive take on Manny’s legacy or his career because it’s just that’s stupid.”
Pickell continued, “Can we just let the plot play out for once in our life? Can we just let this guy get a few reps at quarterback and then let him start a few games. I know the answer is ‘no,’ but I’m just asking all of us here to try and, as best we can, keep our heads on straight just a little bit as this arch Manning score yard progresses.
“And I say that while also just having told you. ‘If you’re a Texas fan and your expectation is Arch winning, take us to a national title.’ That’s not unreasonable.”
