College Football Bye Week 12: Full List Of Teams Missing In Action This Week Ft. Vanderbilt

The 2025 season has entered Week 12, but which teams will be out for their mandated and needed bye weeks? These byes allow teams to rest and relax, as well as give their injured players more time to heal, which means that while fans don’t get to see their teams in action, they can rest assured that this would be an overall net positive for the team.

This week, only one team from the AP’s Top 25 is getting a bye week, though there are several big programs not from the Top 25 that will be getting some much-needed rest this week, along with some of the big programs ranked a little lower.

Ranked College Football Teams with a Bye in Week 12

    Vanderbilt Commodores

The Vanderbilt Commodores started the season red hot, and Diego Pavia has been making his case for a Heisman, but that would have to be paused for Week 12 as the team gets its bye week to rest up its players and get some injured ones healed up by the time the team returns to action on Week 13 against the Kentucky Wildcats.

The bye does hamper Vandy’s momentum, though, as the 8-2 Commodores went up by two places to No. 13 after beating the Auburn Tigers 45-38 in overtime. However, this should also mean that the team would be well rested and possibly get some injured players back by the time they take on Kentucky.

Other Notable Teams with Byes in Week 12

    Colorado Buffaloes

Colorado has been struggling, with Coach Prime’s squad not looking like it used to last year, going down to a 3-7 overall record after falling to the West Virginia Mountaineers last week. This week should give them a chance to rest up and be fresher as they return against the Arizona State Sun Devils.

    Nebraska Cornhuskers

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will have a tall challenge ahead of them in Week 13, as they take on Penn State. However, they do get to enter that contest all rested up from their Week 12 bye. They are 7-3 overall and could climb up the rankings should they beat the Nittany Lions next week.
