Against all odds, QB prospect Jalen Milroe took the NFL Scouting Combine by storm. After a controversial season, the Alabama Crimson Tide QB was determined to make a lasting impression on the scouts.
With his draft stock hanging by a thread after a lackluster Senior Bowl, he’s losing opportunities for good impressions on NFL teams. And guess what? He didn’t just rise to the occasion. He owned it. Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt believes he is tailor-made for a platform like the NFL Combine.

FOX Analyst Evaluates Jalen Milroe’s Draft Stock Post-Combine
The NFL Scouting Combine helps some, raises concerns about others, and creates intrigue as the NFL Draft approaches. For Milroe, the combine was a turning point. The dual-threat quarterback displayed impressive passing skill, surpassing his previous marks in the Senior Bowl.
His precise deep throws and connections on long passes were captivating. While he had a few wayward throws, he made up for them with quick outs and short passes. He was a spectacle, and analyst Klatt praised his performance on an episode of “The Joel Klatt Show.”
“I really love Jalen Milroe. I really do. Now, is he inconsistent? Yes. Does he show top-end talent and traits? Absolutely. And that’s exactly why he is tailor-made for a combine.
“I wish he would’ve run [the 40-yard dash] because I think that would’ve really grabbed some attention amongst the evaluators in the NFL. I think it would’ve created buzz. But he didn’t. That’s fine.”
Jalen Milroe’s Draft Stock Climbs In Indianapolis
As Klatt mentioned, Milroe didn’t participate in the 40-yard dash—only three QBs did—but he fully displayed his powerful throwing arm during the passing drills.
His hands measured at 9 3/8”, surpassing the 9” standard teams look for in a starting QB. This was a half-inch increase from his slightly under 8 3/4” measurement at the Senior Bowl. Milroe’s height was 6’1.5”, while his weight dropped slightly by three pounds to 217.
Milroe is a raw talent known for breaking defenses with speed. In 2024, he rushed for 726 yards and 20 touchdowns with the Crimson Tide, but his passing efficiency numbers notably dropped from 2023.
