Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes and his girlfriend Olivia Dunne returned to their alma maters. Skenes is coming off an excellent 2025 season in MLB while Dunne has already retired from gymnastics after knee injury in the final season earlier in March.
On Friday, Dunne shared photos, marking her arrival in Baton Rouge with a sun-kissed selfie in a purple top on her Instagram stories.
“Back in da boot,” she wrote.
Then, she made her way into the LSU gym, watching the current players doing their session on various gymnastics apparatus. LSU’s Instagram account welcomed her by posting:
“Got a new spectator at intrasquad.”
Dunne reshared the post, sharing she was overwhelmed with the welcome. She also shared a date night photo with Paul Skenes.

Olivia Dunne and Paul Skenes met in LSU for the first time and started dating after a ice-cream date. Skenes led the LSU Tigers in the College World Series before the Pirates took him first overall in the 2023 MLB draft. Meanwhile, Dunne competed five seasons with the Tigers’ gymnastics team. She won the NCAA championship in 2024.
Just last month, Dunne was in LSU to collect her 2025 SEC championship ring from the college. During her time, she also watched LSU Tigers’ football game. There, she even met with LSU women’s college basketball star Flau’jae Johnson.

The post included the couple’s moments from the 2025 season, including Dunne’s appearance at the 2025 MLB All-Star red carpet where Skenes went down on one knee to tie her sandals. This also included a funny moment where Skenes tumbled his way slightly to the mound.
There were several other pictures as well where Dunne is posing in customized Pirates outfit with ‘Skenes’ printed on them. Dunne never missed a chance to attend Skenes’ games at PNC Park. She also formed bonds with fellow wives and girlfriends of Pirates. Finally, she posted her reaction from Skenes’ final regular season start when she punched the air in excitement after the right-hander was able to pitch six scoreless innings in his final start.
