The MLB might be at the peak of the postseason, but Paul Skenes’ girlfriend and former LSU gymnast Olivia Dunne is already in offseason mode. The former social media darling of the NIL revolution and gymnastics national champion shared a series of pictures from a trip to Italy on her Instagram account.
Dunne posted a carousel of photos, including one snap of herself in a white bikini on the cliffs of Taormina, in Sicily. She added a little joke on the caption, writing selfie in a way that would sound Italian to an American listener.

According to reports by the Daily Mail, her boyfriend, Paul Skenes, is with her on the trip to Taormina, having escaped the storm-ridden East Coast last week. At the moment, he’s the front-runner for the National League Cy Young Award, after finishing the season with an earned run average of 1.97. He was the only bright spot in an otherwise extremely disappointing Pittsburgh Pirates season.

Paul Skenes is the first pitcher, 23 years old or younger, to achieve an ERA of 2.0 or lower since Dwight Gooden in 1985. Gooden’s 1985 season is widely considered one of the best in the history of the sport, which puts Skenes’ achievement into perspective.

Olivia Dunne went viral in Skenes’s last game of the season. She watched in joy as her boyfriend dropped his ERA to 1.97. Skenes and Dunne met at LSU, where they were both student athletes and won national championships in their respective sports.
According to BetMGM, it’s almost a certainty that Skenes will win the Cy Young, with odds of -1000. He’s way ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies’ Cristopher Sánchez (+1300) and the Milwaukee Brewers’ Freddy Peralta (+4000). The award will be delivered in late November.
