Paul DePodesta is leaving behind his position as chief strategy officer for the NFL’s Cleveland Browns to join Colorado Rockies as their head of baseball operations. The 52-year old front office executive spent nearly a decade helping the Browns’ decision-making processes.

This move comes after the Colorado Rockies finished the 2025 season with a dismal 43-119 record.
After signing DePodesta in January 2016, the Browns have a record of 56-99-1.
DePodesta helped Browns make a total of 33 draft selections in the span of two years from 2016-2018, with some of his notable picks being Myles Garrett and Baker Mayfield, the No. 1 drafts of 2017 and 2018, respectively.
Celebrity Net Worth reports that DePodesta has an estimated net worth of roughly $9 million and earned approximately $2 million from the Cleveland Browns.
DePodesta started in the Canadian Football League with the Baltimore Stallions before moving on to baseball. He was employed in Baseball Operations with the front offices of the Cleveland Indians, Oakland Athletics, and San Diego Padres.
DePodesta hails from Alexandria, Virginia, but graduated from Harvard University in 1995 with a degree in economics and played for the baseball and football teams.

Paul DePodesta’s professional experience also includes a stint as the general manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers from February 2004 until October 2007. In his time as a general manager, the team achieved their first playoff victory in 16 years. He then became the vice president of player development and scouting for the New York Mets.
