Houston Astros ace Lance McCullers Jr. and his wife Kara are enjoying some down on the West Coast after a season marred with injuries, death threats and struggles.
On Wednesday, Kara posted glimpses from their vacation in Laguna Beach, California. The multiple photos included her, Lance and their two daughters spending quality time at the beach.
The first photo was of Kara standing in front of the ocean in a garden in an orange bikini top. The next photo shows her in a white bikini set resting and soaking sun while lying down on a beach lounger. In one photo, McCullers Jr. is holding his daughter up in his arms. Their other daughter was snapped lounging inside a pool. Other photos showed the McCullers family enjoying their time at the beach, doing various activities.

Lance McCullers Jr.’s Family Faced Death Threats During 2025 Season
Lance McCullers Jr. returned to the MLB mound, pitching for the first time since the 2022 season. However, he didn’t do well upon his return and one particular outing even had some death threats coming his family’s way.
On May 10, McCullers Jr. gave up seven runs while recording only one out. The rough outing led to his family receiving death threats online.
“I understand people are very passionate and people love the Astros and love sports, but threatening to find my kids and murder them is a little bit tough to deal with,” McCullers said.
“There have been many, many threats over the years aimed at me mostly, and I think actually one or two people from other issues around baseball actually have had to go to jail for things like that. But I think bringing kids into the equation, threatening to find them or next time they see us in public they’re going to stab my kids to death … things like that are tough to hear as a dad.”
Due to the death threats, the Astros and the police provided 24-hour protection for the family. The Houston Police Department found the suspect and stated that he made those threats after losing a sports bet involving the Astros. The unidentified suspect has since asked to pass his apologies to McCullers Jr.
