Detroit Tigers pitcher Jack Flaherty’s girlfriend, Katie Johnson, is carving out a new path on her entrepreneurial pursuit. The former professional soccer player recently launched her own swimwear line.
Johnson posted a video announcing her new brand. The concept for the bikini brand is unique. Johnson described the same in the post’s caption and also with the voiceover she did for the video.
“So happy to finally say… YourKini by Katie is now open for bookings,” she wrote. “Each piece is thoughtfully made, one of a kind, and designed by you. I can’t wait to create something special for you.”

Johnson stated that she has always been fond of DIY projects. She loves crafting and personalizing things, and that passion turned into an idea when she was on a trip to Miami, wearing a customized bikini, and someone asked her about it.
The person asked her where she bought that from, and that led to Johnson coming up with the idea of Your Kini by Katie. She said her brand is built around “creativity” and “individuality.” It’s truly one of a kind, and every person can add their own personal touch to the product they buy from her brand.
In an announcement post on the brand’s official Instagram page, Johnson explained that the customers will get to build everything from scratch, starting with the base colors. Any other personal style, gems, embellishments, and accents can be added in the process.
As of now, the brand is only operating for group parties in LA, but soon, they’ll open up for a bigger customer base. Customers can also purchase bikinis designed by Johnson from their website.
Detroit will have Jack Flaherty back in its rotation next season.
The veteran pitcher has chosen not to exercise the opt-out clause in his contract, meaning he will pitch for the Tigers again in 2026 while earning $20 million. ESPN first reported the decision.
Flaherty had the option to walk away from the deal, but doing so would have placed him in a tricky spot. He likely would have faced a qualifying offer from Detroit and entered a free-agent market filled with uncertainty after an uneven year.
Keeping Flaherty gives the Tigers some much-needed stability in their starting rotation during what could be a volatile offseason. Detroit has no intention of moving Tarik Skubal, who is on track to win his second Cy Young Award.
Still, with Skubal set to hit free agency after the 2026 season, rival teams are expected to explore trade possibilities in the coming months.
