Francisco Lindor and his wife, Katia Reguero Lindor, shared another special moment at Citi Field this week. Before the Mets’ matchup with the Padres, Katia took center stage and performed the national anthem on violin. Wearing her husband’s jersey, she delivered a moving rendition while Lindor stood nearby with their children.
It was a family moment that quickly caught everyone’s attention, especially since Lindor went on to homer later that night. MLB recently uploaded a video of Lindor talking about his wife’s moving performance and revealing how their relationship started.
Lindor said his wife showed the world how well she can play the violin and that it was a special moment for the entire family, as their kids got to witness their mother take center stage in front of thousands of people.
Lindor also recalled seeing Katia for the first time. Incidentally, she was holding a violin in the first picture he saw of her.
“The first photo I saw of her. It was a picture of her with a violin. And I was like, this is it. And yesterday she got to showcase it to the world,” Lindor said.

Katia commented on the post, writing that it’s good to know Lindor’s first memory of her has stayed consistent over the years. She wrote:
“At least his story about the first pic that drew him to my IG has stayed consistent…even if I was skeptical at first 😂.”
The couple’s story has been one of growth and support from the beginning. They first connected through Instagram, where Lindor reached out to Katia. Now married with three children, the Lindors have found balance in blending professional success with family life.
Francisco Lindor on How Fatherhood Changed Him
During a conversation with PEOPLE, Mr. Smile opened up about the changes he has noticed in himself after becoming a father. He said he has become more sympathetic, and now he values life more because of his kids.
“It made me try to live life more in the moment,” Lindor said. “They told me that having kids was long days, quick years, and it’s so true. Live in the moment.”
Lindor, a five-time All-Star, believes that being around his kids, seeing them grow up, and enjoying life with them is more meaningful to him than anything else in life. His priority, after becoming a father, has been being present for them at all times and enjoying the precious moments.
