The MLB is in the offseason. While Francisco Álvarez might still be reeling from the New York Mets’ disappointing elimination from the MLB postseason on the last day of the regular season, his wife, Nahomi Rojas, is enjoying her time away from the big leagues.

In her latest Instagram story, Rojas posted a video of herself dancing in a red bikini by the pool. The video is actually a throwback to when she had her tummy tuck done. In the preceding story, she explained how she went heavily into debt to get the tummy tuck, but how it all eventually turned out for the better.
“When I had Only (Fans), I was thinking about closing it because I wasn’t doing well anymore… I was earning around $1000 a month. Turns out that, with those $1000, I went and had my tummy tuck done, my loves. And I went into debt with my doctor, and I had my tummy tuck done, which cost me like $3000,” she said.
“I had my tummy tuck done, and I said, ‘If I’m going to close the Only (Fans) let this be the last thing I get from it, the tummy tuck’… Sister, how is it that the month after having my tummy tuck done, I did a TikTok video ‘dancing’, which I don’t even know how to do. I went viral, and that month in Only (Fans), I made $7000 in nine days. The tummy tuck did change my life. I always say that the tummy tuck and the teeth changed my life,” she added.

She then proceeded to show the video of herself in the red bikini, which allowed her to go viral and succeed on the adult content platform. She told the story as part of a raffle she’s offering, in which the winning woman can earn up to $12,000, which she recommends be used towards plastic surgery.
The raffle has the title “La Tuneada,” which is a Spanish slang for using a derivation of the English term “Car tuning.” It basically means that the winner of the raffle can tune herself, like a car enthusiast would tune a car.
Genius Marketing or Predatory Tactics? An Analysis of Francisco Álvarez’s Wife’s Online Engagement
How this can be portrayed as an achievement is up to her fans. It does seem like an irresponsible narrative to promote, considering Nahomi Rojas has a massive Instagram following of almost half a million.
She and Francisco Álvarez are natives of Venezuela, and her content mainly seems to target women in the country. The entry price for the raffle is 799 Bolívares, which is a little more than $3.5 at the current exchange rate.
Venezuela has been battling a decade-long economic crisis, pushing large swathes of the Venezuelan population into poverty. According to the Wilson Center, 91% of Venezuelans live in poverty. According to Statista, the country’s GDP per capita is $4,510. Understandably, someone living under these conditions could see Rojas’s story as an inspiring and perhaps easy ticket out of poverty.
However, this could also be seen as a predatory tactic, preying on people’s needs in a country where $3.5 could be the difference between making ends meet or not in any given week. If just ten thousand people participate in the raffle, Rojas could stand to make $21,500 (if we deduct how much she would have to give away in prizes).
There’s also the ethics behind the story being peddled by Francisco Álvarez’s wife. Her life, in the US, probably seems idyllic for the average Venezuelan woman. Yet much of this is certainly down to Álvarez’s $762,500 contract with the New York Mets and other opportunities that come with playing in the MLB.
The Mets catcher is expected to earn $2,250,000 in 2026. How OnlyFans is a way out of poverty for young Venezuelan women remains to be proven, but the financial situations are starkly different. That’s without taking into account the ethical issues with promoting this line of work in a country with limited sexual education for the general population.
