Colin Cowherd Drops 2-Word Comment As Ryan Day’s Ohio State Faces Major Recruiting Blow After Brian Hartline Exit

Ohio State Buckeyes’ offensive coordinator Brian Hartline is the latest in line for a new head coach gig amidst a plethora of coaches and programs switching places this college football season.

Hartline, who has been with Ohio State since 2017, is expected to join the South Florida Bulls as their head coach, replacing Alex Golesh, who inked a new six-year contract with the Auburn Tigers on the backdrop of Hugh Freeze’s firing earlier this season.

This domino effect has not only affected programs and coaches but also recruits, as media personality Colin Cowherd reacted to one such recruit’s decommitment from the Buckeyes upon Hartline’s departure to South Florida.

Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, a four-star wide receiver recruit, recently flipped his commitment from Ohio State to USC.

Cowherd, reacting to this news, didn’t hide his feelings on X, giving a prompt two-word reaction on the 6’2″ 190 lb. wide receiver on X, writing:

    “Oh snap”

Despite not confirming the main reason for backing out, Wyatt’s departure can be pieced to Brian Hartline’s USF move, considering the timeline of his revocation since Wyatt had committed to the Buckeyes since May.

Meanwhile, Hartline is reportedly slated to finish this season with the Buckeyes as their offensive coordinator, with the defending national champions set to face the Indiana Hoosiers in the Big Ten championship game on Sunday, Dec. 7th.

OSU’s Top Receiver Recruit Continues To Commit Despite Hartline’s Departure: Reports

Contrary to Kayden Dixon-Wyatt’s decision to decommit from the Buckeyes, one of OSU’s top prospects, supposedly the best receiver recruit from the class of 2026, Chris Henry Jr., continues to be with Ohio despite recent changes pertaining to their offensive coordinator, Brian Hartline.

According to 247Sports Composite Rankings, Henry Jr. is the highest-ranked wide receiver of the 2026 class, while also occupying the 10th spot amongst all the 2026 prospects. ESPN places him in the seventh spot out of all the prospects.

While the Buckeyes will try and defend their national championship this time around, it will be interesting to see if turbulent coaching news like Hartline’s departure affects Ohio State’s future rosters.
