Coach Prime’s Son Deion Sanders Jr. Turns “Matchmaker” For Buffs HC’s Coaching Staff

Deion Sanders Jr., the son of Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, has started to create headlines off the field this time as the campus’ unofficial Cupid. This past week, an Instagram story by Tysha Stewart, the personal assistant to Coach Prime, showed Deion Jr. as “Bucky the Matchmaker” in a funny behind-the-scenes moment with Stewart and Colorado coach Keenan.

The caption of the post referenced one of their previous matchmaking sessions:

“This is the 3rd season of Bucky playing matchmaker with me. This season it’s me and Keenan.”

As expected, Deion Jr. played his part with humor, facilitating moments so that Stewart and Keenan would interact and provide some comic relief for all. The fun happened for the Buffaloes’ staff and players as they prepared for another high-energy season in Boulder.

Tysha Stewart has been in lock-step with Coach Prime since he arrived at Colorado. Meanwhile, Deion Sanders Jr. has launched a number of business ventures, allowing him to be present with his father’s programs. At nearly every opportunity when being asked to share everyday life from within the program, he has used those opportunities to connect the team and the outside world.

Coach Prime’s Courage Inspires Colorado After Beating Cancer

The Colorado Buffaloes’ football program has had an eventful offseason that came from adversity and devotion from the very top all the way down the chain. The central character of this story has been head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, whose ability to rally the troops despite facing severe health issues was incredible and motivated everyone around him and players in the locker room, and even his family.

Of course, it was revealed in July 2025 that Sanders had secretly fought and beaten a malignant stage of bladder cancer. After being away from campus most of late spring and early summer, Sanders returned to Boulder just in time to kick off fall camp, sharing with the media that his bladder had been removed and replaced.

“It wasn’t easy… everybody, get checked out. Men, get checked out,” he urged at his press conference.

Sanders, who obviously had to adjust his life in some physical ways, confidently and boldly, without hesitation, spoke, focused on leading Colorado into its next campaign.
