Coach Prime Shares 5-Word Message For Gillie Da Kid Amid Controversy With Cam Newton Over Jalen Hurts

A conflict has been brewing in recent weeks between former Heisman winner Cam Newton and Philadelphia Eagles superfan Gillie Da Kid. The controversy started when Newton revealed his list of the top 10 quarterbacks in the NFL and did not include Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.

Gillie Da Kid heard about Newton’s list and went on a rant about it at a party last week. At his birthday party, Gillie was celebrating while holding the Vince Lombardi Trophy. He went on a rant about Newton while praising Jalen Hurts.

“Cam ain’t never had one of these, and I ain’t going back and forth with you,” Gillie Da Kid said. “Thank you Jalen. Appreciate you Jalen. Love you Nick. Appreciate you Jalen. Cam Newton never had one of these. I said Cam Newton never got one of these. Thank you Jalen. Thank you Nick.”

This conflict has spread across the football world, with many different people chiming in. On Friday morning, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders, also known as Coach Prime, posted a photo of Gillie Da Kid on his Instagram story with a five-word message for him.

“Love these brothers 2 Life!” Deion Sanders wrote.

Former Heisman Winner Johnny Manziel Defends Cam Newton After Gillie Da Kid’s Rant

While Coach Prime hopped on Instagram to show his support for Gillie Da Kid, former Heisman winner Johnny Manziel took the opposite approach. On Aug. 2, the day after Gillie’s rant was posted on X, Manziel posted a response on X, calling out Gillie for what he said.

“Yo @gilliedakid you may be the biggest f***ing loser on the planet. Talking like you’ve f***ing done anything on a football field. If I see you just know I’m going to slap the f*** out of you, trust.”

While this conflict has been brewing because of Cam Newton’s omission of Jalen Hurts on his top 10 quarterbacks list, Hurts is likely not too worried about it. After all, he won the Super Bowl last season with the Philadelphia Eagles.
