‘Jimmy #1’ – Coach Prime Ranks Colorado WR Over Shedeur Sanders in Latest Kids Rankings

Coach Prime ranks Jimmy Horn Jr. as his No. 1 son over Shedeur Sanders during the ongoing NFL Scouting Combine.

Apart from helping young athletes develop into talented football players, Coach Prime is known for another interesting fact. He loves to rank his kids every week based on their achievements and overall growth.

With the ongoing 2025 NFL Scouting Combine, his son, Shedeur Sanders, is a part of the event. Sanders decided not to participate in the combine, but rather utilize this time to interview with NFL teams. Coach Prime made headlines when he ranked this Colorado wide receiver over his son.

Coach Prime Ranks Colorado WR Over Shedeur Sanders in Latest Rankings

Coach Prime considers every player on the program to be his kid. During the third day of the combine, Sanders and Jimmy Horn Jr. met with Stacey Dales for an interview at Lucas Oil Stadium. During the interview, the quarterback confidently stated that he held the No. 1 rank in Deion Sanders’ list this week.

“It changes week to week. But I think this week I’m the favorite son,” Sanders said. “I think this week I’m the favorite son, but next week, you know, I don’t know. So I don’t get comfortable in my position right now.”

It did not take long for Coach Prime to rain down on Sanders’s parade about being the No. 1-ranked kid this week. In a video shared on social media, NFL analyst Rich Eisen stated that Coach Prime texted him that Horn Jr. was his No. 1-ranked son this week during the combine.

This left Sanders hilariously frustrated and disappointed in the video while Horn Jr. rubbed the victory in his face.

Unlike Sanders, Horn Jr. participated in the drills and workouts at Indianapolis. He ran a 4.46 40-yard dash with a 1.54 10-yard split. The wide receiver also recorded 38 inches in the vertical jump, 10-foot-8 in the broad jump, and a time of 4.41 seconds in the 10-yard shuttle.

Before the combine, Pro Football Focus ranked Horn Jr. as the 218th-best prospect in this year’s draft. His performance in Indianapolis earned him a 5.80 overall prospect grade and a total score of 57.

Jimmy Horn Jr. Not Satisfied With His 40-Yard Combine Dash Time

Despite being recognized as Coach Prime’s No. 1 and achieving a combine score of 57, Horn Jr. was unsatisfied with his 40-yard dash time. Ahead of the combine, he confidently stated he would aim to break the record set by Xavier Worthy last year (4.21 seconds).

However, the Colorado wide receiver could only muster a 4.46 time in his second attempt after running it in 4.47 seconds on his first try. He took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with his performance.

With how things currently stand, Horn Jr. is projected as an average NFL backup or special teams player. He still has an opportunity to improve his draft stock during his upcoming pro day.
