Deiondra’s post comes at a particularly special time in her life. She recently celebrated an impressive milestone when her son Snow took his first steps at almost one year old. Snow’s birthday is August 9, 2024, and they will share the same day as his famous grandfather, marking another special chapter in the Sanders family story.

With Coach Prime focused on building another successful season, Deiondra pursues her own professional career. With her roles at SC3 Sports, Deiondra can contribute to the family’s athletic ventures while establishing her own credibility in the field of sports communications. The role indicates her commitment to grow her own independent career, in addition to her responsibilities as a new mom.

Coach Prime Deion Sanders Returns Cancer-Free to Lead Colorado Buffaloes

Meanwhile, Coach Prime is officially cancer-free after undergoing surgery for bladder cancer and having his bladder removed. Deion was first diagnosed with cancer in the spring of 2025, when a CT scan found the cancer during a routine check up. Deion then underwent a robot-assisted cystectomy at the University of Colorado’s Cancer Center and Specialist Team.

Deion’s successful surgery and clean lymph nodes have cleared him to return as head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes for 2025. According to reports, he lifted the spirits of the team as they began preparing for their first opponent, Georgia Tech, on August 29, 2025. The 2024 Buffaloes had a nice 9-4 record, and expectations will be much the same for 2025.

Sanders has a strong coaching history heading into the 2025 season with a 40-18 record in his college coaching history. Sanders made a name for himself in college athletics with his turnaround at Jackson State University. The two Southwestern Athletic Conference titles with Jackson State and nominated SWAC Coach of the Year in 2022 are two of many acheivements in Coach Primes’ illustrious coaching career.

The 2025 Colorado team will be particularly interesting as they face the challenge of going into the season without Coach Primes’ son and former quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Shedeur leaving for the NFL Draft creates a significant impact on the Buffaloes’ offensive leadership. The young quarterback had a big role in Colorado’s recent success under his father’s leadership.
