After two crushing losses in Weeks 9 and 10, as Colorado lost 53-7 against Utah and 52-17 against Arizona, fans were hoping for Deion Sanders’ team to turn things around in the Week 11 game against West Virginia.
Coach Prime made a couple of bold changes for this game, taking Pat Shurmur off his play-calling duties and putting 5-star QB Julian Lewis as the starting quarterback instead of Kaidon Salter.
At halftime, the Mountaineers were up by 10 points, making the score 19-9 on Saturday. Colorado ultimately lost 22-29.
As Colorado continues to struggle on the field, many fans and analysts wonder if it’s time to let Deion Sanders go.
“Coach Prime definitely about to get fired.” one fan speculated.
“Note to all #deionsanders fans. You are watching the end of an era. For the rest of the beatdown today and two more games to go, that will mark the end of his Coaching Career. In totality, it was smashingly unsuccessful and a great example of how NOT to build and operate a Football Program,” another fan announced.
“If Deion Sanders lets Colorado abandon the run game at any point left in this game, he needs to be fired. Colorado has been running the ball well commit to the run game and pound the ground,” another fan added.
“Deion sanders and his DC should legit be fired. no way,” another fan joked.
“Who’s gonna leave/resign/get fired first. Bill Belichick or Deion Sanders? It looked like Bill for a minute but Deion is opening up a huge lead the last couple weeks,” another fan questioned. “Deion Sanders has got to go,” another fan wrote.

Deion Sanders Offers Insight into Health Amid Colorado Struggles
Coach Prime said football is not just business for him, it’s his passion, comparing the sport to his “wife.”
Talking about his health issues, he said it has nothing to do with Colorado’s wins and losses.
“Football is not my business. Football is my passion, man,” Sanders said. “It’s like my lady, she’s like my wife, like I love her. I do. So it’s more than business. To me, business is the other stuff, that’s business. My heart is in this … [My health issues] ain’t got nothing to do with the win and loss column … I ain’t playing. I wish the world I could, especially [at] corner right now, we’re short. I wish. No, I mean, but I got to do a better job in this thing. That’s on me. So it has nothing to do with my health.”
