Cleveland Browns Mock Draft: Ohio State Legend Stays Local

The Cleveland Browns were the second-worst team in football last season. In this full 7-Round NFL Mock Draft, they address several holes on their roster.

The Cleveland Browns hold nine total draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft. After a season where they finished as the second-worst team in the league, the Browns will need to hit on every single one of them.

Read on to find out who we think the Browns will take in this full seven-round mock draft.

    7-Round Cleveland Browns Mock Draft

    2) First Round – EDGE Abdul Carter, Penn State

Although the Cleveland Browns desperately need help at quarterback, if Miami Hurricanes QB prospect Cam Ward goes at one, I don’t see them taking Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders at two.

With rumors swirling that superstar defender Myles Garrett wants out of Cleveland, it makes sense for them to go with Abdul Carter, who is far and away the best pass rusher in this draft class.

    33) Second Round – OT Grey Zabel, North Dakota State

OL Jedrick Wills has not panned out as the top-tier tackle that the Browns were hoping to get with the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. With his contract set to expire, Grey Zabel would be a fantastic replacement.

Although Zabel played at the FCS level, he’s the real deal, and if he’s available at the top of the second round, I don’t see the Browns passing up on him.

    67) Third Round – QB Will Howard, Ohio State

This would be a poetic pick for the Browns, as Will Howard is an Ohio State legend. If the Browns were able to keep Howard in Ohio, he could very well become the future of the franchise and see significant playing time as a rookie with the Brown’s current QB situation.

    94) Third Round – RB LeQuint Allen, Syracuse

This is no disrespect to RB Nick Chubb, as he is one of my all-time favorite players, but the truth is that his career is likely coming to an end within the next couple of seasons.

The Browns need an every-down back who can run the ball, catch passes out of the backfield, and be a stud in pass protection and Syracuse’s Lequint Allen fits that mold well. While Chubb still has several seasons left in the tank, selecting Allen could give him plenty of opportunities to learn from Chubb.

    103) Fourth Round – WR Pat Bryant, Illinois

Cleveland has found its WR1 in Jerry Jeudy, but it still needs a solid WR2 next to him. While Pat Bryant isn’t the most polished receiver, he’s a deep threat with a big catch radius and elite body control. If Bryant is available in fourth, it’d be a slam-dunk pick for Cleveland.

    165) Fifth Round – CB Nohl Williams, California

Nohl Williams isn’t a top-end CB prospect, but he’s played a ton of football. He has six years of starting experience and could come in and either be a rotational cornerback or make an immediate special teams impact for Cleveland in his rookie season.

    194) Sixth Round – LB Kobe King, Penn State

Kobe King isn’t going to be a Mike linebacker in the NFL that can be heavily relied upon in pass coverage, but he is a downhill thumper who the Browns could take here in the 6th round to develop. King is a guy like Nohl who could make an immediate impact on special teams.

    202) Sixth Round – WR Jimmy Horn, Colorado

Jimmy Horn is a guy the Browns could take here and develop him out of the slot. Horn didn’t have high-end production during his time in college, but he is toolsy and could potentially develop into an NFL starter.

    204) Sixth Round – Cooper Mays, IOL, Tennessee

The 2025 IOL class is a weak one, but I actually think Cooper Mays has the upside to potentially becoming a starter in the league. He’s got a good frame, standing at 6’4″ and weighing 310 pounds, and the Browns could hope to develop him into a starting center in the NFL.

    216) Sixth Round – DT Cam Horsley, Boston College

Cam Horsley isn’t the most technically sound defensive tackle, and he lacks true NFL size, only weighing 290 pounds, but he’s a great athlete with a high upside. He didn’t rack up much production in college, but he could potentially develop into a starting or rotational three-technique in the league.

    217) Sixth Round – S Dante Trader, Maryland

Dante Trader probably isn’t athletic enough to ever play safety at a high level in the NFL, but he’s worth taking a flyer on here in a late round. He could certainly find his way into playing special teams for the Browns.

    257) Seventh Round – RB Donovan Edwards, Michigan

There was a point in time when it seemed like Donovan Edwards was going to be a Day-Two pick, but after his final year at Michigan, where he didn’t seem to be as explosive or elite as scouts once thought, his stock seems to have tanked.

If the Browns could get any resemblance of Edwards of old, however, this could be a steal with their last pick in the draft.
