Clemson and Notre Dame Are on a Collision Course: Who’s in Control?
While the schools have only faced each other eight times since 1977, the games have been relatively competitive. The Tigers lead the all-time series 5-3 and won the last matchup in November 2023.
Five of the eight meetings in this rivalry have ended in one-possession games. Great recruiting and coaching have led both in recent years, which is why it is exciting for fans to see these teams renew their rivalry.
On Nov. 13, 2027, these two teams are sure to do battle with a lot at stake.
The Stars of the Notre Dame-Clemson Rivalry
You can’t be a part of this rivalry and not have the talent to take home victory. Both teams have had some great players in recent years, especially when this rivalry has taken center stage in college football.
Looking at the quarterback position for Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence are two of the best Clemson players of all time from a talent and statistical perspective.
The Tigers have also had some great wide receivers take the field when these two teams have met up. Current NFL wide receivers such as Mike Williams and Hunter Renfrow were two of the best at their positions at the collegiate level.
You can’t forget about all-purpose running back Travis Etienne either.
The Irish boasted a strong offensive line, with notable linemen Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson manning the middle of the trenches for years.
