Fox Sports Analyst Joel Klatt recently revealed his Top 10 Quarterbacks going into the 2025 season on the most recent episode of his show, with Clemson’s Cade Klubnik topping the list, with Carson Beck barely making the list. Klatt’s rankings were full of surprises.
With Texas Tech being amongst the favorites for the National Championship in 2025, Arch Manning is rated by many as the top prospect and best QB in College Football going into the 2026 NFL Draft by many. Despite this, Joel Klatt named Cade Klubnik as his number one.
Joel Klatt Names Cade Klubnik No. 1 QB for 2025
With Klubnik recently appearing in California, training with renowned Quarterback Coach Joel Palmer, who has worked with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen in the past, the Tigers Quarterback is evidently locked in for his Senior season.
The Tigers’ Quarterback had a breakout year in his Junior season, throwing for 3,639 yards and 36 Touchdowns, with a QBR of 78.7. Klubnik led his team to the playoffs, where they suffered a defeat to the Texas Longhorns.
Despite this, Klatt believes the Tigers’ Quarterback, going into his third season, can lead Clemson one step further, to a National Title.
“My number one quarterback going into next season in 2025 is Cade Klubnik,” Klatt stated. “I’m a big believer in Clemson mainly because I think Cade Klubnik is going to be the best quarterback in college football next year.”
I think Cade is tremendous. A year ago, there were real questions going into the season about Klubnik. Would he be able to lead Clemson? What were they going to be, in particular, throwing on the outside? And now, they get him back.” The Fox Sports analyst explained on his podcast, detailing why he believes Klubnik is so good.
“I think that he’s fantastic. He’s shown why he was the number one quarterback out of high school when he played so well.”
“He pushes the ball down the field. You think about this. He had the third-most completions in the country last year of throws that traveled at least 20 or more yards down the field. He’s athletic. He’s got good players around him. And, he’s got Garrett Riley still and this offense where he’s now played for a number of years,” Klatt said.
Joel Klatt Believes Clemson Is A ‘Top 5’ Team Ahead Of The 2025 Season.
Naming Cade Klubnik as his number one Quarterback in all of College Football, Klatt also revealed that he believes the Clemson Tigers are one of the best teams going into 2025, under Head Coach Dabo Swinney.
“This is a team that I think is absolutely a top-five team. Dabo is making another run. I think he’s building for another run at Clemson, you know…I think Dabo and Clemson are building something that could threaten this year, and Cade Klubnik? A big reason why I think that could potentially happen.” Klatt explained as he discussed his top 25 teams going into 2025.
“They found something that has been missing in recent years, which is wide receiver play,” Klatt said. “Top three wide receivers are back, with Antonio Williams being the No. 1. Two players who played really well as freshmen last year, Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore all back. Love that.”
Outside of top offense weapons like Klubnik, Wesco, Moore, and Williams, Klatt also believes another contributing factor to Clemson’s success in 2025 will be their Defensive Line.
“The defensive line has studs. Alright, let’s think back to those teams that did win national championships. What did they have on the defensive side for Brent Venables, then-coordinator, were great players on the defensive line. And they’re going to have that again.”
With both Peter Woods and TJ Parker returning to the Tigers next season, both Defensive Linemen, and ‘studs’ according to the Fox Sports Analyst, Clemson will have two potential first-round NFL Draft Picks on the Defensive line.

“Watch out for Clemson. I’m just telling you right now, Dabo Swinney is gonna have those boys back and they’re gonna be playing at a high level.”
