The 2024 RB Rankings ahead of their final season in high school are here. The top of the class featured a trio of backs that are ready to take the national stage by storm, but where do the top 10 running backs for the Class of 2024 align?

Class of 2024 RB Rankings

Jerrick Gibson remains the top back on the CFN Fusion, earning a five-star rating with an overall grade of 99.339. Right behind him are the duo of Taylor Tatum and Kameron Davis, each of whom also earned a five-star rating of 99.000 or higher.

1) Jerrick Gibson, IMG Academy

College: TBD
Hometown
: Gainesville, Florida
Height: 5’10.5″
Weight: 190
CFN Fusion Grade: 99.339
Position Rank: 1
State Rank: 5
Overall Rank: 25

Earning the top overall grade among running backs on the CFN Fusion, Jerrick Gibson is the current cream of the crop. At 5’10” and 200 pounds, Gibson has the ideal size and speed to produce at the college football level and beyond.

Gibson is surprisingly light on his feet and has the makeup of an elusive back once he hits the college field. He’ll continue to draw a ton of interest, as his 20+ Power Five offers would indicate. Gibson is poised to do more than just carry IMG’s running back room this season and give the recent RB factory yet another name in the college-to-pro circuit.

2) Taylor Tatum, Longview High School

College: TBD
Hometown
: Longview, Texas
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 195
CFN Fusion Grade: 99.156
Position Rank: 2
State Rank: 6
Overall Rank: 34

One of the top prospects in the great state of Texas, Taylor Tatum is perhaps the most well-rounded back in this class. He needed just 12 catches to record 160 yards through the air, in addition to his ridiculous 227 carries for 1,891 rushing yards and 33 scores.

Tatum has aligned multiple official visits for the summer and should be on every top team’s radar entering his final season at Longview.

3) Kameron Davis, Dougherty High School

College: Florida State
Hometown
: Albany, Georgia
Height: 5’9.5″
Weight: 210
CFN Fusion Grade: 99.116
Position Rank: 3
State Rank: 6
Overall Rank: 36

At the time of writing, the top running back committed to a program is Kameron Davis, who has been a Seminole for quite some time. Davis pledged to FSU back in 2021 and seemingly never wavered.

Noticeably, Davis is Dougherty’s quarterback but projects as a running back quite easily at the college level. He’s a hulking 210 pounds, and at this rate, the only thing limiting his stock as a recruit is the fact that he hasn’t been featured in the receiving game, given he’s the quarterback.

4) Jason Brown, O’Dea High School

College: TBD
Hometown
: Seattle, Washington
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 191
CFN Fusion Grade: 98.635
Position Rank: 4
State Rank: 1
Overall Rank: 57

Jason Brown is the top player in the state of Washington and the closest to a five-star CFN Fusion grade. Like the majority of the running backs in the top 10, Brown has the ideal size and frame to work with at the college level.

He’s considered a lean toward Washington at this rate, but any one of the national powerhouses with offers to him could secure his services when all is said and done. Brown is a converted cornerback with surprising power and tremendous elusiveness in the hole.

5) Jordan Marshall, Moeller High School

College: Michigan State
Hometown
: Cincinnati, Ohio
Height: 5’10.5″
Weight: 190
CFN Fusion Grade: 98.120
Position Rank: 5
State Rank: 3
Overall Rank: 80

Spurning his in-state school for rival Michigan, Jordan Marshall committed to the Wolverines from Cincinnati powerhouse Moeller. Marshall is easily one of the top players in the state of Ohio and has shown that time and time again against the best the Buckeye state has to offer.

Marshall has great burst in the hole and has no trouble reaching his top speed. While his official visits set for this summer include Ohio State, Michigan, and Wisconsin, his ultimate decision is one to monitor going into the fall.

6) Dwight Phillips Jr., Pebblebrook High School

College: Georgia
Hometown
: Mableton, Georgia
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 167
CFN Fusion Grade: 98.056
Position Rank: 6
State Rank: 12
Overall Rank: 81

Reportedly with over 35 offers from any school one could think of, Dwight Phillips Jr. shut down his recruitment earlier this year with his commitment to Georgia. A burner in the open field, his track-star speed should come as no surprise as he’s the son of former Olympic gold medalist Dwight Phillips.

Phillips Jr. is a bonafide three-down running back at the next level and a potentially valuable addition on special teams.

7) Nathaniel Frazier, Mater Dei High School

College: TBD
Hometown
: Santa Ana, California
Height: 5’11”
Weight: 195
CFN Fusion Grade: 98.039
Position Rank: 7
State Rank: 11
Overall Rank: 84

The top back from the state of California, it should be no surprise that Nate Frazier calls Mater Dei home. Frazier has terrific speed both on the field and on the track. His recruitment is seemingly open but certainly heating up.

The majority of Frazier’s Power Five offers have come in recent months as he’s broken through the rankings as a surefire top 10 back. With a recent visit to Georgia, the offer followed, and he’ll have a difficult decision to make in the near future.

8) James Peoples, Veterans Memorial High School

College: Ohio State
Hometown
: San Antonio, Texas
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 195
CFN Fusion Grade: 98.021
Position Rank: 8
State Rank: 15
Overall Rank: 86

A recent commit to the Buckeyes, James Peoples can flat out fly. Peoples is a verified track star and routinely leaves defenders in the dust on carries. All Peoples needs is a slight crack in the defense, and he’ll take it to the house.

While other offers are enticing and certainly present for Peoples, his commitment to Ohio State is seemingly solid. The Texas native will head north to Columbus to carry on their rich running back tradition.

9) Kevin Riley, Tuscaloosa County

College: TBD
Hometown
: Northport, Alabama
Height: 6’0″
Weight: 192
CFN Fusion Grade: 97.584
Position Rank: 9
State Rank: 6
Overall Rank: 108

There is a lot to like about the ascending profile that Kevin Riley possesses. With a long frame, Riley can likely maintain his current weight or add more at the college level. If he maintains his speed and lowers his pad level, Riley could break through at a number of Power Five schools.

Considered a favorite to stay in the South, whichever SEC school he chooses will certainly help bolster their overall recruiting class.

10) Caden Durham, Duncanville High School

College: TBD
Hometown
: Duncanville, Texas
Height: 5’9″
Weight: 195
CFN Fusion Grade: 96.830
Position Rank: 10
State Rank: 24
Overall Rank: 139

The newest addition to the top 10 running backs on the CFN Fusion, Caden Durham is absolutely one of the top players in the state of Texas and nationally. With a plethora of offers on the table, Durham ran for 36 touchdowns as a junior at Duncanville.

His Power Five offers are heating up as well, but the SEC seems to be a likely landing spot for his services. He’s a terrific inside runner with great vision and burst. Durham would fit right in as a potential impact runner as early as his freshman season.
