It could be said that when the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide meet in Week 11, that it’s essentially a play-in playoff game for the 2024 College Football Playoffs. No, neither team is guaranteed a spot with a win, but each team is all but eliminated with a loss.
That’s why players like CJ Daniels playing their best will be integral for the Tigers.
What Happened to CJ Daniels?
Daniels has been a revelation for the Tigers in 2024. In his six games this season, Daniels has hauled in 29 receptions for 342 yards, making his impact felt all over the field.
His impact was felt more so when he was not on the field against Ole Miss and seemingly hobbled against Texas A&M. The 6’2″, 205-pound Liberty transfer missed time with the Flames, and his status for LSU became officially in doubt following another exit from the A&M game with an apparent leg injury.
Now, with his status officially listed as ‘probable,’ it’s clear that Daniels will be active and ready to go against Alabama in Week 11.
Is CJ Daniels Playing vs. Alabama?
For all intents and purposes, Daniels is set to be a full go against Alabama. The LSU injury report listed him as ‘probable’ following his exit from action against A&M two weeks ago. He reportedly practiced all week and is set to be fully in on the action against Alabama.
However, he was clearly hobbled by what appears to possibly be a nagging injury in both the Ole Miss, Arkansas, and A&M games. How ready he can actually be against Alabama is the next biggest question.
LSU may be able to rely on their stable of receivers, but this offense does feel like it has enough firepower to overmatch a team like Alabama with Daniels on the field.
