College football’s chaotic transfer portal window is rapidly closing, with Friday, April 25, marking the final day for players to officially jump ship. As the seventh day wraps up, the countdown is on. Once the portal slams shut, schools will be working against the clock. They will have 48 hours to finalize and submit their new roster additions.
But with April 25 landing on a Friday, there’s a small cushion. Programs will still have until the morning of April 28 to get their paperwork in and lock down their transfers.

New Entries and Commitments From the Last 12 Hours on the Eve of the Transfer Portal’s Closure
Many teams and players have moved during the transfer portal period, so let’s examine some of the notable names that have emerged in the past 12 hours on Day 1 of the 2025 NFL Draft.
CB Jyron Gilmore, Georgia State > Georgia Tech
After locking down the secondary for Georgia State last season, cornerback Jyron Gilmore is taking his talents to the ACC. The veteran DB has officially committed to Georgia Tech for the 2025 campaign via the transfer portal.
Gilmore was a steady presence for the Panthers in 2024, suiting up in all 12 games and racking up 53 tackles with a pair of interceptions. Before that, he made waves as a freshman at Tennessee Tech, where he posted 115 tackles, three picks, and 18 pass breakups over his time with the Golden Eagles.
WR Carlos Orr, Illinois > UNDECIDED
Illinois wide receiver Carlos Orr has officially thrown his name into the transfer portal after just one season in Champaign, opting for a fresh start elsewhere. Despite not seeing the field in 2024, Orr enters the portal with four full years of eligibility.
His departure marks the ninth for the Fighting Illini this cycle, raising eyebrows about the program’s retention efforts. Even as Illinois stacks its receiver room with new faces, the growing list of exits hints at deeper issues within the locker room or development pipeline.
QB Brendan Sullivan, Iowa > Tulane
Former Iowa Hawkeyes quarterback Brendan Sullivan is taking his talents to the Tulane Green Wave for the 2025 season, making the announcement official on Wednesday via X. The move offers Sullivan a fresh opportunity to command an offense and carve out a larger role under center.
In 2024, he saw action in 10 games with three starts, completing an efficient 71.1% of his passes (38 of 53) while tallying three touchdowns and interceptions. Despite limited playing time, his grit and impact didn’t go unnoticed.
OL Josh Aisosa, Oklahoma > West Virginia
Former Oklahoma Sooners offensive lineman Josh Aisosa is heading to West Virginia, per On3, marking a new chapter in his young college football journey. After spending just one season in Norman, the 6’5″, 300-pound lineman wants to reset and make a bigger impact with the Mountaineers.
Aisosa joined the Sooners in January 2024, choosing them over offers from Iowa State, North Texas, and Tulsa. Despite the buzz around his recruitment, he didn’t see any playing time during the 2024 season. Following spring practice, he opted to enter the transfer portal.
QB Trever Jackson, Florida State > Arkansas
Former Florida State quarterback Trever Jackson is officially headed to Fayetteville, as he’s committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks, per On3’s Pete Nakos. After visiting the program on Wednesday, Jackson didn’t waste time deciding, sealing the deal with the Hogs shortly after.
Though his time with the Seminoles was brief, Jackson gained valuable experience behind the scenes. He appeared in just one game before redshirting the rest of the season, but remained a key figure during practices, working as the scout team quarterback.
DL Brendan Bett, Baylor > UNDECIDED
Baylor Bears defensive lineman Brendan Bett has officially entered the transfer portal, per On3, signaling a fresh chapter after a challenging 2024 season. Limited by injury, Bett couldn’t see much action last fall, but he’s now eyeing a comeback and a chance to shine with a new program.
Though he suited up for just one game last year, Bett’s flashes of potential can’t be ignored. Throughout his 10-game college career, he’s logged nine tackles, a sack, and a few pass deflections.
S Trey Krause, Kansas State > UNDECIDED
Kansas State Wildcats safety Trey Krause has officially entered the transfer portal, adding to the growing list of departures that have clouded the Wildcats’ offseason. With over two dozen players exploring new opportunities before the 2025 season, Krause’s exit marks yet another shift in the team’s defensive depth.
In 2024, Krause saw limited action but still made his presence felt in three games. He took the field as a reserve defensive back during the season opener against UT Martin and later suited up against the Cincinnati Bearcats and Iowa State Cyclones.
EDGE Joseph Adedire, Texas Tech > UNDECIDED
Texas Tech Red Raiders edge rusher Joseph Adedire is officially exploring new horizons after entering the transfer portal, closing the chapter on a three-year stint in Lubbock. Known for his early impact, Adedire turned heads by becoming the only true freshman to appear in more than four games for the Red Raiders.
He made the most of the opportunity, racking up 19 tackles, including four for loss, and notching a sack across 12 appearances. His breakout campaign even earned him an All-Big 12 honorable mention.
EDGE Beau Atkinson, North Carolina > Ohio State
Former North Carolina Tar Heels edge rusher Beau Atkinson is taking his talents to Ohio State. As On3’s Pete Nakos reported, he signed with the Buckeyes after generating significant buzz in the Transfer Portal.
Known for his disruptive presence on the field, Atkinson was a standout during the 2024 season with the Tar Heels. He played all 13 games and recorded an impressive 35 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks.
CB Malachi Carney, South Alabama > Georgia Tech
Former South Alabama Jaguars cornerback Malachi Carney has found a new home with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, stepping in to help shore up their right tackle position. Last season, Carney delivered solid numbers with a 59.0 overall grade, including a 64.7 in pass blocking and a 66.6 in run blocking, showcasing his versatility.
Before his time at South Alabama, Carney impressed as a freshman at Penn State, posting a 11-4 record while racking up 15 pass breakups, 4 interceptions, 71 tackles, and six tackles for loss.
WR Jonathan Brady, California > UNDECIDED
According to multiple On3 sources, California Golden Bears wide receiver Jonathan Brady has decided to make a move. Brady gained national attention in the 2024 Big Game, where he delivered a clutch, game-winning touchdown pass to Fernando Mendoza.

QB Gevani McCoy, Oregon State > Temple
Former Idaho Vandals and Oregon State Beavers quarterback Gevani McCoy is heading to the Temple Owls for the 2025 season. Despite a rocky start with the Beavers last year, where he threw three touchdowns and six interceptions across nine starts, McCoy found a way to make an impact with his legs.
Racking up 328 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, McCoy showcased his dual-threat ability, earning attention for his athleticism.
