Deion Sanders in the middle of rehabilitation ahead of the 2025 season
Throughout June, Deion Sanders has mostly been away from Boulder due to an unspecified health issue. Recent updates point to the coach improving over the last few days, although the nature of the health issue remains unknown, as per USA Today.
The first public signs that something was off with Sanders’s health came on June 8, when the coach had to cancel a speaking engagement. Some speculate that issues with bloodclots have recently resurfaced and might be keeping him from his duties. In 2023, he missed the Pac-12s media day due to issues related to blood clots.
In early June, Deion Sanders Junior gave the following update about his father’s situation.
“He’ll tell y’all soon enough what he going through, what he went through,” he said on June 8, as per the aforementioned publication. “When we get back in Boulder, I don’t know. I’m waiting until my dad leaves. When he leaves, then I’ll go. Until then, I’m gonna sit here with him.”
Most recently, Deion Sanders shared on Instagram that he was continuing his rehabilitation process and that his eldest son has been an irreplaceable support throughout it. The Buffaloes summer football camps have gone ahead without him at the helm in the meantime.
