The playoff matchup between Miami and Texas A&M at Kyle Field has unfolded under difficult conditions, with strong winds playing a major role in how the game has progressed. Miami, during the game, found themselves in a great situation following an extended punt return by Malachi Toney.
Subsequently, Carson Beck was brought down for a sack, forcing Miami to attempt a 47-yard field goal. Carter Davis stepped up, but the strong winds in College Station, Texas, carried the kick wide, with the score remaining tied after the first half.
The game headed into halftime with neither side able to put points on the board, as Miami’s Carter Davis badly missed another field goal attempt, this time from 40 yards.
This prompted a lot of fans on social media to express their frustration at Davis’ missed opportunity, with fans taking to X to mock the kicker’s performance.

“Carter Davis I know the wind is bad but at least give it a chance”, commented a fan.

Before the playoff game today, the Miami kicker had been flawless, converting all four of his field-goal attempts and all 18 extra points, totaling 30 points. However, he has already missed two field goals in tonight’s playoff fixture against the Aggies.

Hurricanes Hold 3–0 Advantage Over Texas A&M Early In The Third Quarter
After neither side being able to score points up until halftime, the scoreboard finally came as Miami broke the deadlock early in the second half.
After driving deep into the Aggies’ half and reaching the 2-yard line, head coach Mario Cristobal opted to send out the field-goal unit, with Carter Davis redeeming his previous misses as he converted the short attempt to put the Hurricanes on the board.
With just over 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter, Miami holds a 3–0 lead over Texas A&M.
