Before the start of the 2024 college football season, quarterback Carson Beck was viewed as one of the top prospects in the NCAA. He was coming off a stellar season in Georgia and was expected to be a top pick in the 2025 NFL draft. However, he had a disappointing season where he struggled with turnovers and injuries. As a result, he opted to return to college and transferred to Miami.
On Tuesday, the ACC media days began, with California, Miami, SMU, Stanford and Virginia participating in the first day of action. Carson Beck was one of the representatives for the Hurricanes at the event and spoke about his decision to leave Georgia and transfer to Miami. A clip of his press conference was posted by the Miami Instagram account.
“I think this decision is one of the better decisions I’ve made and since I’ve been here in January and developing the relationships and building the chemistry between me, the wide receivers, the running backs, the tight ends, the O-Line, and just trying to develop those relationships and that camaraderie,” Beck said. “It’s just reinforced my decision in a positive way.”

After this video was posted, Carson Beck’s sister, Kylie, reposted it to her Instagram story with a four-word reaction.
“Proud is an understatement,” Kylie Beck wrote.

Carson Beck Expresses His Excitement to Return to the Field
Carson Beck was the starting quarterback back for the Georgia Bulldogs last season. However, he did not get to participate in the college football playoff because of an elbow injury he suffered in the SEC championship game. As a result, it has been a while since he got to suit up for a game. At the ACC media days on Tuesday, he expressed his excitement about returning to the playing field and spoke about how good a summer of training he had.
“It’s been a really good summer,” Beck said. “The thing I’m most excited about is just being back out on the field. That was the hardest thing for me, was being away from the game. I’m just itching to be back out on the field, being with the guys.”
Carson Beck and the Miami Hurricanes have a tough opening matchup. They will start their season against the runners-up from the national championship game, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. That game is scheduled for Sunday, August 31, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
