Cardinals Could Draft Speed Again As Arizona Star Projected Join Marvin Harrison in Explosive WR Room

The Arizona Cardinals are poised to strengthen their receiving corps again in the 2025 NFL Draft. After drafting Marvin Harrison Jr. fourth overall in 2024, they are now targeting Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan.

Harrison, who led Arizona with 885 yards on 62 catches (14.3 yards per reception) in 2024, played a pivotal role in improving the team’s passing attack to 214.1 yards per game (18th in the NFL).

With Kyler Murray throwing for 2,343 yards last season, Harrison’s impact was immediate. Now, the Cardinals are eyeing McMillan to pair with Harrison and form a formidable duo. As teams shift focus from free agency to the draft, Arizona sees another elite receiver as a key step in bolstering its offense. The first round of the 2025 NFL Draft kicks off April 24.

Arizona Cardinals May Add Another Star WR To Complement Marvin Harrison

The Cardinals are considering another top-tier wide receiver in the 2025 NFL Draft, even after selecting Marvin Harrison Jr. in the top five last year. Despite his presence, Arizona ranked 16th in passing yards per attempt (7.1) and tied for 20th in touchdown receptions (21) in 2024.

Adding another dynamic playmaker alongside Harrison and tight end Trey McBride could elevate the Cardinals’ passing attack.

Texas wide receiver Matthew Golden has drawn interest thanks to his elite speed—clocking a 4.29-second 40-yard dash—and polished route running. Many believe he could thrive more in the NFL than he did in college.

Meanwhile, McMillan has also emerged as a potential target. At 6’4″, McMillan possesses an exceptional catch radius, but concerns linger over his 4.55-second 40-yard dash, as historically, slower receivers have faced challenges breaking into the top 10 picks.

Harrison, widely considered one of the most gifted receivers in recent draft history, showcased his talent at Ohio State with over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns in his final season. His 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame, elite route running, and contested catch ability make him a perfect weapon for Kyler Murray.

However, their chemistry was inconsistent last season, with miscommunication issues surfacing throughout 2024. Despite that, Harrison still managed 885 yards and eight touchdowns on 62 receptions.

With Michael Wilson contributing and Greg Dortch likely returning as a restricted free agent, Arizona’s receiving corps is solid but could use another explosive weapon. A true deep threat would stretch defenses and create space for Harrison in the intermediate game.

As the 2025 draft approaches, the Cardinals are well-positioned to further enhance their offense with another top playmaker.
