Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton recently did an interview with ESPN in a car of his granddad. It was an old truck, and it was a difficult beast to drive.
So much so that even his teammates won’t be able to drive.

What Car Does Gunner Stockton Drive?
The Bulldogs quarterback revealed he was driving a Ford F-150 1984. The car was part of Ford’s seventh-generation F-Series (1980–1986). They come in various types of engines, including 4.9L inline-six (300 I6), 5.0L V8 (302 Windsor), 5.8L V8 (351 Windsor/351M) and 4.9L diesel.
During the interview, Stockton told the interviewer about the background of the car.
“So, it was my granddad’s, and I always grew up sitting in the middle seat,” Stockton said. “It was kind of my childhood truck. When I got older, my papa was like, ‘You get it running, you can have it, you can drive it.’ And all it really needed was a battery at the time. Got it up and running, and that’s what I drove in high school.
When asked how many of your teammates could drive this thing, Stockton said:
“None at all.”
Gunner Stockton is the grandson of Lawrence Stockton, an alum of the University of Georgia and a devoted fan of the program. He died on October 30, 2010, after a UGA vs. Florida game at Jacksonville’s EverBank Stadium. He suffered a heart attack when he was in a parking lot. At the time, Stockton was just six years old.
Stockton said why the game against Florida is personal:
“He had a heart attack there at the stadium. Every time we go to Florida, I really want to beat them bad in Jacksonville.”
Talking about his grandfather, Stockton added:
“He lived on the lake, and he always treated us so good and spoiled the grandkids. He was just a great granddad.”
Gunner Stockton is the son of Rob Stockton and Sherrie Stockton. He has a sister named Georgia.
