Cameron Williams NFL Draft Outlook
2024 was the first year Williams was able to be the full-time starter for Texas. He was as solid as it gets playing right tackle and was really able to showcase what makes him special. Williams is a massive, long tackle that looks unmovable at times when he sets his anchor. Williams is a scheme versatile pass protector and it’s clear that his best football is in front of him.
Williams will enter the league with an NFL body and already possesses abundant power. He has displayed the ability to use his length as a major advantage and swallow defenders without allowing them to get to his chest. The massive frame of Williams combined with his grown man strength lets him displace and overwhelm any defender isolated on him.
Williams excels at maintaining a balanced center of gravity and using that to generate force. He understands how to gain depth and set his anchor to avoid getting pushed off balance in pass protection.
Williams lacks a bit in terms of flexibility in the lower body but his footwork is impressive. He can shuffle his feet without crossing or becoming unbalanced, and he also avoids getting knot-kneed.
He is effective in his lateral movements and the way he can mirror speed rushes is impressive. He showed some struggles against speed rushes. He doesn’t always get low enough without bending his waist which is something that gave him some problems.
7-Round 2025 NFL Mock Draft: Nick Emmanwori, Xavier Watts Rise, Shedeur Sanders Falls
Williams struggles with his knee bend. He often uses his waist area to generate bend which can cause instability and limit the drive he can create. When he gets his pads low he can generate phenomenal torque but on tape, there are many instances of him not being able to get low and overcompensating with his arm length to keep defenders away.
The power that Williams is able to generate is most apparent in the run game. He is quick off the line and is able to shoot out of his stance to work into the second level. He flashes a ton of power when reach blocking and overwhelms defenders trying to slip in and fill running lanes. Williams does well swiveling his body to get in front and can relocate his head and hands to drive open gaps.

Additionally, Williams is a very smart blocker. I was surprised to see how technically sound he is. His hand placement is great. His punches are accurate and set up counters well. Williams recognizes stunts and twists effectively and is able to identify what is coming in terms of the games being played up front quickly enough to set himself up where he needs to be.
Williams has a good floor as a pass protector and is advanced for a guy with as much mass as him. He is shockingly light on his feet. The lack of knee bend is a concern and while having the length to make up for it, he is going to need to work on this to reach his ultimate ceiling.
Williams is a guy that can hit the ground running at the next level. His power will play and he will be able to generate the torque to blow open holes. His athleticism is apparent and will allow him to work off his power and be a force. Williams is the kind of talent you bet on and his floor is high enough to be comfortable with plugging and playing.
Bottom Line: There aren’t many tackles the size of Williams that display the kind of upside he does. He shines as a pass protector and his traits tell you that he can become a great run blocker as well. He has unteachable power and the quickness that allows him to be a force in space.
Williams is more than a developmental prospect because I believe he can step in right away and be a real contributor. He will however continue to grow and his best football is in front of him.
The former Texas tackle has some things that need to be cleaned up, but many teams would be more than willing to take him on and get their hands on him. Williams can play right away and has the tools to become a high-level tackle at the next level.
