Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward Trade Barbs Ahead of 2025 NFL Draft

Both quarterbacks are predicted to be among the top five picks, and they recently practiced together at UNLV in a session caught by Well Off Media.

While enhancing their skills, they also took shots at one another, showcasing a competitive but friendly rivalry that could carry forward into the NFL.

“They gave you a completion percentage award, and all you did was throw check-downs and bubble screens. That’s crazy,” Ward told Sanders. “If I did that, my completion percentage would be 90%. I throw the ball downfield. You don’t.”

Ward continued: “That’s how you threw it. That’s how you got a 70% completion rate. All you do is this: LaJohntay, bubble screen, touchdown. I ain’t throwing no bubble screens.”

Sanders advised Ward he could find highlights of him throwing bubble screens and then laughed while telling the cameras: “Consistency, that’s what he lacks.”

Ward continued the banter by mocking Sanders for taking an early hydration break, calling him a “nine-win man.” Sanders, who is sponsored by Gatorade, responded by pointing out that he is paid to consume the sports beverage, to which Ward replied, “I don’t need to be paid.” Football pays me.”

The most dramatic moment occurred when Ward reminded Sanders of Colorado’s Alamo Bowl loss to BYU. Sanders quickly flipped it around, accusing Ward of leaving his side, resulting in an intense debate.

Despite the trash words, the two appear to have a rivalry like Bird vs. Magic, with their interactions characterized by a mix of competition and respect.

As draft day approaches, Sanders and Ward’s skills and charisma continue to captivate the football community, paving the way for a fascinating draft process.
