Former Heisman Winner Blasts EA Sports As No. 1 Overall Pick Cam Ward Placed Below Shedeur Sanders In Madden 26 Rating

Robert Griffin III is extremely upset with the Madden rating of the 2025 NFL Draft first overall pick, Tennessee Titans’ Cam Ward. The former Miami man and 2024 Heisman Trophy finalist got an overall rating of 71, which is extremely low for a first overall pick of the draft. Not only that, but adding insult to injury, Ward is not even a top 10 rookie in Madden 2026.

Heisman winner, turned analyst, RGIII took to his X account to tweet his dissatisfaction about EA Sports’ decision:

“Cam Ward is the most disrespected QB #1 overall Pick EVER. I know it’s just a Madden Ranking , but Cam Ward having a 71 rating and not even being a top 10 rated rookie in the game as the 1st Pick in the NFL draft and the lack of national media coverage of him solidifies it.” Wrote the RGIII

Ward had an amazing final season of college football with the Miami Hurricanes in 2024, becoming a consensus All-American, the ACC Player of the Year, a First Team All-ACC selection, and the winner of the Davey O’Brien and Manning awards. In the process, he recorded 4313 passing yards, with 39 touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading the ‘Canes to a 10-3 overall record. Miami came between the earshot of participating in the College Football Playoff (CFP) and finished No. 18 in the AP Poll.

Cam Ward on the state of the Tennessee Titans’ offense

The Tennessee Titans’ offense hasn’t looked great during the preseason training camp, and Cam Ward knows it. Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, the first overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft was blunt about his offense’s performance in the last few days:

“I just think we’re very mid right now,” Ward said on Wednesday via ESPN. “At the end of the day, it all starts with me.”

“I have to get on the same page with my receivers, watch more film, and be more accurate with the football,” Ward added.

On the same day of the press conference, Ward was intercepted by cornerback Roger McCreary. Just on Tuesday, Ward was intercepted three times more by the Titans’ defense.
