Earlier in the week, college football insider Dalton Wasserman outlined the impressive skills that make Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo one of the best and most intriguing prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft.
While Wasserman did detail all the positive attributes of Skattebo, he also noted that the running back does not possess elite speed similar to Boise State Broncos running back Ashton Jeanty.
What Did Dalton Wasserman Say About Cam Skattebo?
Wasserman made clear that Skattebo was one of the most versatile and impactful players in the 2025 NFL Draft class despite not having the top-end speed as others in college football.
“The top-end speed is not A+; it’s not Kaleb Johnson, it’s not TreVeyon Henderson, Ashton Jeanty, those guys. But that’s really all I have. And, I think the only other thing too is the amount of mileage that he does have on the tires already,” Wasserman said.
“But I mean, you talk about a guy who adds attitude, who adds A-plus heart when he’s running the ball or catching the ball, it doesn’t matter. And, I think even in open space, maybe he’s not 4.3 blazing speed, but he darn well knows how to handle it, and you know what, if he can’t run by you, he’s gonna run through you. This is someone who just brings something different.”
Cam Skattebo 2025 NFL Draft Outlook
Skattebo had a great season this past year for the Sun Devils. He had 1,711 rushing yards, 21 rushing touchdowns, 45 receptions, 605 receiving yards, and three receiving scores on the campaign.

However, Skattebo is also very elusive and is extremely strong in the passing game, both as a receiver and blocker.
