Cam Ward has been advertising himself for quite some time recently as the Miami QB heads to the 2025 NFL Draft. He is one of the top prospects in this year’s class, along with Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, and is expected to go off the draft boards as a top- ive pick.
Last week, he raised eyebrows with a stern message for NFL teams where he vowed to seek revenge against franchises that would pass on him. These comments spread like wildfire among fans and experts in the sports fraternity. Legendary QB Cam Newton, who caught the attention of his remarks, dropped a classic reaction.

Cam Newton Gets Real About Cam Ward and His Previous Comments
Last week, Ward mentioned that he doesn’t want any team to pass on him. And if they do, they’ll have to face the consequences, which, in a milder tone, means he would never forget that moment. A comment that was made by several QBs like Peyton Manning in the past.
“You’re either going to draft me, or you’re not. If you don’t draft me, that’s your fault. You’ve got to remember you’re the same team that’s got to play me for the rest of my career, and I’ll remember that,” Ward said per NFL.com.

These remarks didn’t go well with Cam Newton, who mentioned that it was not appropriate to flex since it may go south, citing Josh Risen as an example.
“Next year, nobody will give a f***. There’s only one person that made a statement like that, and it cashed in,” Newton said, naming the NFL legend who made similar comments in the past.
When asked who, Newton said, “Peyton Manning. He told the Indianapolis Colts, “If you don’t draft me, it’ll be over for you.” He said it. I’m paraphrasing here, but not everybody. There’s been other players that said that s***, too. Josh Rosen said that s***, too. And look at how his career ended up. We ain’t even seen a Josh Rosen jersey in Arizona.
“Hey, pal. Hey, you’re not that guy, pal. So, granted, of course. Do I like what he said? Yes. But that’s to say that’s that’s just um advertising bait for teams to draft him. Yeah Cool. And he should feel that way. But in the grand scheme of things, dog, all that s***. When you get in that locker room, ain’t nobody going to give a damn if you was the damn first pick or the 11th pick or the 33rd pick or an 111th pick. No m***********. Can’t you play straight up?”

Looking at the current draft order, the Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns, or the New York Giants are reportedly looking for a quarterback. Ward appears to be their most viable option.
