Is Cam Little the Best Kicker For Fantasy Football 2025? Exploring Former Arkansas Standout’s Stocks Following Historic Moment

The NFL preseason has been filled with highlights, and on Saturday night, Jacksonville kicker Cam Little was the latest player to steal the spotlight. At the end of the first half of the game between Pittsburgh and Jacksonville, the Jaguars sent up for a 70-yard field goal attempt. Little took the kick and drilled it through the uprights. He made the kick with plenty of room to spare.

Typically, when NFL kickers make extremely long field goals, they trickle in or bounce in off the posts. That was not the case here as Little kicked it right down the middle and it still had plenty of space in the air when it cleared the posts. This kick would have been the NFL record if it had taken place in the regular season or playoffs. Little spoke about the kick after the game.

“Can’t lie, there was probably a little bit of doubt,” Little said. “But I mean, we attempted a lot of long field goals in training camp. Had some 60, probably 65-pluses before [in practice]. And so, you know, I really wanted to just go out there and see what it would do.”

After Little made such an impressive kick, it has led people to wonder if Cam Little is the best kicker for fantasy football in 2025. While it was an impressive kick, there are still more reliable players available.

There is no denying that Little has impressive power. However, his longest kick in a game in college or the NFL was 59 yards last year with the Jaguars. So, it is unclear if this kick is an indicator of something stronger. Little is worth adding to your fantasy team, but he is not the best option available. According to ESPN, Detroit’s Jake Bates is the nearly consensus No. 1-ranked option.

    Cam Little College Stats

Cam Little played three seasons of college for the Arkansas Razorbacks before getting selected in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. In those years, he had an incredibly impressive career, completing 53 of 64 field goal attempts. He also never missed an extra point attempt throughout his college career. Little missed only one field goal attempt of less than 40 yards and was successful on seven of his 11 50+ yard attempts.

Longest Field Goal In NFL History

On Saturday night, Cam Little made a field goal that would have set the record by a significant margin if it were an eligible kick. However, since it was in the preseason, it did not count. The NFL record is from Sept. 26, 2021. Baltimore’s Justin Tucker kicked a 66-yard field goal against the Detroit Lions.
