Deion Sanders’ Colorado has had a difficult start to the 2025 college football season as they faced a loss in a 27-20 matchup against Georgia Tech in Week 1; however, things changed in Week 2 when Colorado QB Ryan Staub stepped up and led the Buffaloes to a 31-7 win against Delaware in week 2.
Despite the momentum, Colorado fell short against Houston in Week 3 and lost in a dissapointing 36-20 matchup, which led to a backlash from fans who believe Deion Sanders should be fired if he doesn’t end up winning games in the upcoming weeks.
In an X post, fans flocked to share their reactions.
“then why do they pay their head coach 10,000,000 per year? fire deion,” a fan commented.
“Fire Deion. He doesn’t want it. Fuck you @RickGeorgeCU,” another fan expressed frustration.
“@CUBuffsFootball FIRE YOUR COACHES HOLLLYYYY THE WORST OC, DC, and the worst of them all Deion who benches their best QB,” another fan shared their thoughts.
“Fire Deion, hire Sheduer,” another fan suggested.
‘I need to step in, as a Colorado booster. This is the kind of game that makes your blood boil, especially after donating 40% of your paycheck to the program each week. We need a new QB plain and simple. And if Deion doesn’t step up, God help us,” another fan wrote.
“Paying Deion top 5 money to go 3-9 two out of three years 😭. You guys are going to be bankrupt and broke after you fire him,” one fan wrote.
Deion Sanders took the Buffaloes from a 1-11 team in 22 to a 4-8 team in 2023 and finally a 9-4 team in Colorado. However, after losing Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter along with more star players to the NFL, their chances of having a successful 2025 season seem slim.

Analyst Weighs In on QB Situation at Deion Sanders’ Colorado
Deion Sanders has been using a different approach regarding his quarterback plan at Colorado this year as he gives Ryan Staub, JuJu Lewis and Kaidon Salter opportunities to show off their skills.
Analyst Danny Kanell weighed in on the situation at Colorado and said that it’s not the right approach as it crushes their confidence by having their opportunity taken away.

“If you have a revolving door at quarterback, it’s going to potentially ruin the season for them,” Kanell said. “And I also wonder what it means in that locker room, not to mention what it means for the transfer portal implications.
“… I think it’s just a dynamic that Coach Prime is going to have to manage very delicately, or else you could lose the season even worse than we thought it could be,” he added.
Colorado will now face the Wyoming Cowboys in week 4.
