Head coach Bill Belichick and the North Carolina Tar Heels have had an up-and-down start to the year. After losing their first game of the year to TCU, they bounced back with wins over Charlotte and Richmond. They then lost in Week 4 to UCF. This week, the Tar Heels had their toughest test yet against an underperforming Clemson team.
Despite Clemson’s struggles to start the year, they did not appear to be impeded early in the game against Bill Belichick’s squad. By the time the fourth quarter came to an end, the Tigers had scored four TDs and taken a 28-3 lead.

The poor start from UNC led to a huge number of fans calling for Bill Belichick to be fired on X.
“Fire Bill Belichick,” one fan wrote.
“Fire Bill Belichick,” another fan commented.
“UNC should fire Belichick. This isn’t gonna work out,” one fan added.
Fans continued to react to UNC’s slow start on X.
“A Clemson home game at Kenan Stadium, says all you need to know about the Belichick era at UNC. No one cares. Can’t fire him fast enough,” one fan wrote.
“Are the Tar Heels gonna have to actually fire Bill Belichick?” one fan commented.
“Fire Bill Belichick,” another fan added.

Bill Belichick’s Coaching Tenure at UNC Is Off to a Slow Start
One of the biggest stories of the offseason came when Bill Belichick signed a five-year contract with the North Carolina Tar Heels. After five decades in the NFL, he made a change and took his first college coaching job. While Belichick is viewed as arguably the greatest coach in NFL history, there were questions about whether his style would translate to college.
Early on, Bill Belichick does not appear to be having a lot of success. However, not everything that has gone wrong for the Tar Heels can be blamed on Belichick. The team does not have a roster that should be competing for a national championship. While Clemson has struggled to start the year, it is a team that was a preseason national championship contender. However, it is hard to argue that fans should not be disappointed with a 28-3 start. Belichick does not have Tom Brady for a crazy comeback like he did in Super Bowl LI.
