Cade Klubnik is closing out his career at Clemson with significant struggles at the Pinstripe Bowl against the Penn State Nittany Lions. The fourth-year veteran is having a difficult time helping move the chains for the Tigers, as the game is 3-6 in favor of Penn State in low score encounter.

Klubnik has thrown for barely 115 passing yards, with a 50% completion percentage. Such a poor performance for a veteran drew the ire of fans online.
“You will not be missed, Mr. Klubnik,” wrote one fan
“Cade Klubnik is the most overrated QB in college football history,” claimed another person

Others thought that it was brave of Cade Klubnik to play with the current offensive line.
“Much respect to Cade Klubnik for playing today with virtually no offensive line to protect him,” explained another fan
Others thought of what could have been had the offense worked for Clemson this season.
“Cade Klubnik failed this Clemson defense this season smh defense is elite,” lamented someone
NFL fans didn’t seem to want the Clemson quarterback to join their team.
“Thank God my team has a franchise quarterback because if I had to watch my favorite NFL organization draft Cade Klubnik I would shoot myself in my fucking eyeballs,” explained someone else
Cade Klubnik’s Disappointing Season Puts His NFL Future in Doubt
Cade Klubnik’s 2025 season was a profound disappointment, throwing for 2750 passing yards, with just 16 touchdown passes and six interceptions. His QBR was a lowly 62.9, which ranked 56th among signal-callers in the nation. 2025 was his lowest yardage and his lowest amount of touchdown passes since becoming the team’s starter in 2025.
According to Dabo Swinney, one of the main reasons behind Klubnik’s decision to participate in the Pinstripe Bowl was to attempt to show decision makers in the NFL that he’s ready for the professional level. Specifically, he thought a good performance in cold-weather New York could be a strong signal for the NFL.
“Check the weather reports in NFL stadiums this weekend,” Swinney said.
So far, it’s been the complete opposite of a positive signal for the NFL. He will get another chance to showcase himself during the East-West Shrine Bowl.
