Clemson Tigers quarterback Cade Klubnik‘s 2026 NFL Draft stock may be decreasing. On Saturday, Oct. 18, collegiate football analyst Todd McShay uploaded a video to his Instagram of a snippet from the recent episode of his podcast “The McShay Show,” where he discussed, with Stephen Muench, Klubnik’s chances to make it into the NFL.
Muench said Klubnik belongs in the echelon of potentially being a second-round pick once he declares for the Draft, the same case for the likes of Missouri Tigers alumni Drew Lock. However, McShay believes that amid all the injury concerns that surround Klubnik, the senior is overrated and revealed what he’d like to see from him moving forward.
“ I don’t. Klubnik’s arm, I overrate it, the more I watch. I think it’s solid. I think the anticipation of some of his throws, I don’t see the same energy at the end of his throws, as I see with a lot of these other guys…The biggest thing with Klub’ is I want to see less caffeine in his pocket presence. I want to see a little bit more calm, a little bit more hmmm,” McShay said (0:38).
“But at this point, I find it hard to believe that he’s gonna be a top 40, top 50 pick if I’m being totally honest,” he continued.
“Where are we with Cade Klubnik as an NFL prospect right now? 👀TheMcShayShow on Spotify | YouTube #nfldraft #nfl #collegefootball #cfb #football #qb,” McShay captioned with an emoji.

Klubnik is in his fourth year of his collegiate football tenure with coach Dabo Swinney‘s Tigers. In the ongoing campaign, Klubnik and company have churned out an overall record of 3-4 (2-3 ACC), as they are the No. 10 seed in the conference standings. They have five games to go in their campaign, and it will continue when they face the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday, Nov. 1, on their home pitch.

Stephen Muench Believes Cade Klubnik Is Starting To Pick Up Pace In The 2025 Season
In the same episode of “The McShay Show,” Stephen Muench laid out Cade Klubnik’s struggles throughout the year. However, he believes the Austin, Texas, native is returning to tip-top shape, given the Clemson Tigers‘ slew of wins recently, especially the one over the North Carolina Tar Heels. Muench asserted that he still believes in Klubnik’s potential.
“ Cade Klubnik, tough start to the year. I think he’s had too much of this offense. He’s not played well. Look, this was a guy I thought could be the first quarterback, and he’s not in that conversation anymore. He’s just not there. But I look at the arm strength, I look at the release, I look the way he moves. He’s starting to get right. Granted, it’s North Carolina, but he was outstanding against North Carolina, against his weaker competition. He’s starting to play a little bit better,” Muench explained (0:00).
