Todd Bowles respects Coach Deion Sanders while addressing coaching and fatherhood in college football. The Bucs Coach says it is nothing new for him to coach former players’ sons.
If you didn’t know, Shilo Sanders went undrafted in the 2025 NFL draft. However, a day after the event ended, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed him as an undrafted free agent.
The team’s mini-camps have already started, allowing the fans to see how everyone is adapting to the program. That being said, Shilo Sanders is not a regular rookie as he carries a big name and the pressure that comes along with it.
However, while addressing the question to coach Deion Sanders’s son, coach Bowles remained unfazed and said things were as they were.

Todd Bowles Shares Honest Thoughts On Coaching Shilo Sanders
Tampa Bay saw just enough to make Shilo Sanders 1 of the 15 undrafted players. Don’t let the Undrafted free agent moniker fool you. After just Day 1 of the minicamp, the Bucs coach referred to the ex-Colorado safety as Intelligent and Loud.
Bowles is more of an old-school guy who does not hand out compliments just like that. The coach kept his composure and remained unfazed when asked about working with Shilo Sanders and the legacy that comes with it.

“You are always going to be a parent first and put your kids first. I’ve coached former players kids before so this is nothing new. Deion understands the game”

“You are always going to be a parent first and put your kids first. I’ve coached former players’ kids before, so this is nothing new. Deion understands the game,” said the Bucs coach.
There is a widespread belief that Shilo would not even be considered a potential undrafted free agent after the 2024 season if it weren’t for Prime Time.
As it stands, the ex-Colorado safety has work cut out for him to prove that he is way more than just the son of the Hall of Famer.
It seems that Shilo is taking all the right steps, as Bowles had only compliments when he was asked about the safety on Sirius XM NFL Radio.
